The rating drop is driven mostly by the 11.4 redesign. Users report removed features (routing preferences, full-screen trip planning), broken multi-stop calculation and avoid points, no way to stop navigation, crashes, and a clunkier UI. These sit on top of long-standing neglect: no CarPlay, no iPad full screen, poor address search and questionable truck/RV routing. There was an earlier iOS 26 launch break and some paywall complaints, but these are secondary. The weak spot is that truck/RV routing depends on licensed map and restriction data, so the core is not a pure commodity.
