Windy.app — Wind, Tides, Radar

It is very windy outside. Wind should be listed and it’s NOT!! Had to look at it multiple times just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. Deleting. Windy without winds listed!

This was my go to app. I’m not sure what they changed but it has been off for a while now when it used to be spot on. My Apple app has been way more accurate. I won’t be renewing it at this point.

Completely useless on my phone. EVERY click is just trying to get you to subscribe paragraph on my desktop. I can see a map… On my phone. It is a useless nightmare. I don’t exaggerate, literally a useless nightmare. If I hadn’t seen a function on the desktop I would think it was garbage.

When starting a trial subscription to tryout the app, it says they will remind you a day before the annual subscription is started. Then they don’t send a reminder but do charge you for a year’s subscription.

I used it once and I deleted it but I got charged $175 for yearly subscription

To difficult to figure out

They make this app in such a way that if you don’t pay attention you click on the buy button all the time. After that is impossible to get your money back. I’ve been with customer service for 5 days and no refund yet.

Tried a free trial but it just charged me for a whole year automatically instantly. No three days nothing just charged me. I emailed them about it with no reply.

It is getting annoyed than before.

Winds were either much stronger or less strong than quoted. Not reliable.

Paid for the app however Much a year it is for fishing. Tell you after you join it’s an extra $50 a year for the fishing part. Is there a 10-30 day period to get a refund on the purchase of the app?

Not a helpful app and consistently not accurate.

Was charged a 1 year subscription for $165.54 without my consent. Be careful with this app

so you pay for it and then you stop paying for it and it lies to you so much that why would you pay for it again? What is your seriously what are you thinking?

Used to love this app but, I have to reset the settings every single time I open my app now.

Why do I have to answer a ton of questions about myself just to use a wind forecast app? It’s none of your business what I do.

This app looks like it could be amazing. However, the advertisement that you click to get to it first says there is an option for monthly payment. There is not. There is only a yearly payment. Also, they advertise it as a fishing app, which is what I wanted. However, once you get into it, you have to pay an additional $50 a year to get the fishing portion of the app. That's a total of $200 a year with no other options. I wish they would be upfront at the beginning so I did not have to waste my time downloading. Again, it looks like it could be amazing, but not everybody can spend $200 a year to try out an app.

Every time I try to login, I have to go fix my settings. It doesn’t even have salmon or steelhead listed. I forgot to shut off the seven day trial when I decided I didn’t like it and got charged $40! I’ll never use the app it doesn’t even work. I can’t figure out how to get my money back.

Do you want an app that bombards you with upsells and is right about 50% of the time? Boy do I have the app for you.

Does what I want, but super annoying pop ups. Every single time I use the app it asks if I want to upgrade. Then I have to stop what I’m doing and select “no.” Then it pops up with “are you sure you want to decline?” It is so annoying. I’ve been using other applications that are less absurd because of how this one operates. Everyone hates the subscription model. It is so dumb. The constant pop ups to try and make you subscribe are such a turn off. I’d consider a one time purchase, but the move to every single app being a subscription is so cringe. I know they’ll say, “app development costs money.” BS, but I guess people fall for that.

I thought I loved Wendy until today. I figured out when they say low accuracy mode what they really mean is is they giving you bad information that you really do need so when I checked tides today it showed a low tide of close to 3 feet at 8 AM but the truth was it was only a foot at 8 AM. I see them not being very accurate but then to just basically give you horribly bad information that makes it dangerous. I do not understand.

This is such a con, when you get the app and pay for it you’ll find it has a lot more hidden charges. Make sure you look at the fine print. DONT BUY IT

Shows fishing spots, weather and activity times but the fish library never works.

Cancelled during the free trial. They charged me $49.99 so I cancelled in Apple Subscriptions and Windy managed to charge me another $164.99 for an annual subscription. BEWARE

This app is deceiving. I signed up for it because everything that was being presented on Facebook showed them to be a fishing app. I signed up for the app which costs approximately $50 per year and downloaded it. During setup it has you tell them all about how you fish and what you’re fishing for and makes you think that you are getting a fishing app however, as soon as you login, they hit you for another $65 per year to access the fishing portion of the app. This is not a fishing app primarily, it is a very expensive weather app with a costly fishing add-on.
