Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Signing up is easy, canceling is not. Don’t give them your credit card info, you will have to dispute charges & get a new card
I paid for a month of basic access to the app for $11.99. At first it was nice as I was able to create a plan for an upcoming two-week road trip. The problem was that even with a paid basic membership, I lost access to that plan after just a week. To access it after a week, they require another upgrade to the “premium” subscription. I felt VERY scammed by this subscription purchase and DO NOT recommend a subscription at ANY level as the subscription price is far too expensive.
I’ve repeatedly asked them to cancel my subscription and was just charged over $100. Now they are refusing to refund me even though I have told them that I lost my job and wasn’t supposed to be charged. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!
Signed up for 7 day trail they charge you right away if you cancel the will not issue refund. App doesn’t let you pick areas for stops it does nothing for you
I went into the app on Sept. 20th for a 7 day free trial and they charged me the yearly fee to renew on Sept. 11, 2027. I have’t even had the app for more than 4-5 days. Have to go through the hassle of disputing it.
The app sounds great but is not user friendly. Way, way, way too many things to see. Difficult to alter plans or look at alternatives.
I subscribed for years and had access for a long time to trips I single handed scouted, planned and mapped on here: then they did an update and locked me out of all my trips. It’s kept me from sharing and recommending their app for years.
So much potential and even more disappointment. The biggest problem is that to change the dates of your trip you have to edit each stop, and when you do this they get out of order and no matter what you do, the app will not put them in any logical driving order. The lack of editing options is infuriating. App is very glitchy and waypoints appear and disappear on the map for no reason. Could be great if there was better integration with Google Maps, and Yelp. Both are linked but show such minimal information that you need to exit this app to view anything. Another missed opportunity would be to also link an app like gas buddy so as you travel you could also have access to gas prices to make your choice. Disappointed and angry that I paid for a premium annual subscription.
When I first used this app, I loved it and it was great tool for planning trips! Now to do anything you have to upgrade your account. I paid to upgrade to the next tier and still had a ton of issues using the app. I canceled the app but since it’s paid for the year, I was supposed to still have the same level of service but the app is acting like I have a basic account or no account. Everything I try to do it gives me an error message that I need to upgrade. I also dislike that it isn’t smart enough to recognize what day of your trip you’re on so you constantly have to scroll. Makes the app pointless at this point.
No renewal notification and it did not confirm when I cancel my subscription
Every time an update occurs I lose my pro membership and have to figure out how to access again. I miss campendiam. Everything did not carry over and Roadtrippers is not as intuitive of an experience.
Not much info for Nebraska
Unhappy user
Bad directions!
Impossible to cancel and the app constantly tries to upsell ! AVOID!
The paid features of this app are pathetically, terrible and dangerous. If you plan to use it for the RV route guidance feature don’t bother.. The refund policies are also atrociously predatory. There is no clear way to cancel their membership management page does not render correctly in Safari. Basically once they have your money, they’re keeping it. Do not sign up for the subscription. Do not sign up for the trial. Just skip the paid features they suck anyway
This is a paid app. It should be in the description. You cannot do anything without paying for a membership
No exit on map

Over priced and really does nothing you cant just do by googling
Free trial is only if you sign up for the premium annual membership and you still don’t get all the perks associated with that level. Classic bait and switch. Hope the app is better than the introductory offer.
I already did!!!
I’ve tried this now for two road trips, one from Virginia to Missouri via North Carolina and Tennessee and Other from Virginia to New Jersey. Not many options provided. A quick Google search gave me much much better options. Don’t waste your money.
In app purchase in this case just means pay app as there is not a single thing you can do w/o paying.
I was a little disappointed in this app. There were some really amazing places that the app didn’t mention that we almost missed. It gave routes around scenic routes even when we selected that option. It did not give work when well on the road either. Not very happy nor recommend the app.
What would it take to build a viable competitor, what would it cost to run every month, and a prompt to get started. Generated from the reviews on file; one LLM call per brief. Set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for a real brief; the stub only fills in a template.
