EveryDollar: Budget Management

I am currently utilizing the trial period and have found the app to be significantly problematic - I have link by banking, via Plaid, and it does NOT update transactions. I have manually entered transactions for days, and find this absurd, considering this is part of the “paid” function (and I’ve paid considering you MUST enter payment info to obtain trial period). Further, there is not a “delete” option for any line item you may have entered correctly; users aren’t able to relocate budget lines between categories - overall, this app seems highly non user friendly and if this functionality doesn’t improve over the course of the next week, I’ll be cancelling.

I have loved this app for 6 years now. I religiously moved my widgets to the budget item every day. With 4 kids and a busy house, this helped me stay on top of my budget. Well just this summer they switched to plaid to connect to your bank instead of connecting directly. It goes through a third party and plaid is a mess. It misses some of my purchases especially over the weekends. They are delayed even though it say in my bank that it’s been processed. It’s made me totally miscalculate my budget to the point of dropping negative because well you make an EveryDollar budget so if you over spend on one item without knowing you’re screwed. Bring back the old way please. I’ve been looking at other apps. I’m looking at you Dave Ramsey

I attempted to cancel the introductory subscription several times before I was charged for a full year. This app does NOT show under Apple subscriptions. The help feature on the website directs me back to Apple to cancel! It’s a HUGE contradiction for an app that’s advertised to help with fiscal responsibility to actually be a subscription trap. Do better, Dave Ramsey!!!!!!

I’ve been complaining about the badge being wrong all the time for the last several updates—for perhaps a year. I can tell you’ve done something but it’s still consistently wrong, just wrong in a different way. Aggravating. The app is mostly good. But the app badge is really screwed up. It shows that there are transactions to log when there are none or else the number is wrong. If there are any, after I log them, a couple minutes later the badge shows that there 3 new transactions, but there are always none. It does this consistently. If it shows a number of transactions to log at other times (not the 3 it shows right after I’ve logged all transactions), the number of actual transactions is always one fewer than what the badge indicates. The badge is almost always wrong now. Completely unreliable. Irritating. I pay a LOT of money for this service, so please fix.

It appears the app updated yesterday and now it will not Load past a green screen. I use the app everyday. This has never happened. If I delete and reinstall, I’m warned that I’ll lose all my data. I like it otherwise. Please fix this and I will update the review. I Can find no other Way to contact you about the problem since the app Won’t load. I did restart my phone. Thanks!

The app won’t open and it’s infuriating

How can you possibly keep making this app worse with every update. I’ve had this for at least six years and it consistently keeps getting worse. Who in the heck is in charge? Why do we have to jump through all these hoops to move stuff around and push five different buttons just to put an expense in. And why the heck can I not use the same wording in a different month. Is that really that big of a deal?!

Simple and easy to use. It doesn’t require you to link your bank accounts which is exactly what I wanted- I prefer to manually enter my transactions. Unfortunately it keeps logging me out and losing months of budgets when I log back in making it unusable. Logging back in is annoying enough on its own but each time it deletes 10+ months of budgets and transactions including the current month. It does this maybe every 1.5 to 2 months so I gave it a couple more chances in case it was a glitch that just happened once or twice but nope. It happened again. Deleted all of my budgets and transactions from December 2025 to current day (Sept 2026). And it’s almost the end of the month so I’m not going to go back in and redo weeks of transactions just for this to happen again in a month or two.

Have used the app for a long time and pay for premium. This new calculator update may cause me to unsubscribe. You can’t hold the back button and erase a full number. The typing is slow and requires a done press. Developers should revert back to the one before.

With the latest update, the Cash Flow feature now costs money to use! It’s literally the main thing I use this app for, super frustrating as I’ve been using this app for the last year and it’s been great! Bad move, Ramsey!

Wish I could do 0 stars do NOT use this app if you want to budget

This app is lame they make you pay for a year automatically if you download it for free and don’t Intend on paying for it. I don’t recommend using it. Now I have on call Apple instead of the people so I can get my money back what a pain

I downloaded this app thinking it would be free or at least have a basic plan option that would be free. it’s not free at all, only the trial run is free for a few days. After 7 days you will be charged what u chose and there is only two options. one is yearly and the other is monthly.

Usable, though, I prefer not to support an out of touch old man that, in 2026, believes that going to a restaurant is what is keeping people poor. It is always the children of the rich that believe that they have toiled like the working class. Interestingly, they never seem afraid of failure when success is guaranteed for them. This is for Dave Ramsey, his children, and their ilk. Canceling.

Last update closed the app and it won’t open

The most recent update is awful! The font is awful. The layout and way transactions are saved, is awful! I don’t love it, at all.

The app was working great until couple days ago. I see the same charges twice.

Makes you give them your email address before they tell you that you have to pay an ungodly amount of money. I’m trying to save money, why would I spend a bunch of money on an app?

Way too confusing and requires too much effort for what little insight they give you about your monthly saving and spending.

Nothing will load as I’m trying to enter an items on my budget sheet and if it does load, it doesn’t do my updates and it glitches

Don’t misfile any transactions. If you do, you can’t change it without deleting it.

I’ve experienced many of the issues in this review - duplicate transactions, banks disconnecting, transactions not being cleared when deleted or categorized. I was willing to keep trying but I have created multiple support tickets and literally no one gets back to you. I like the UI but I am in the process of transitioning to another app. Edit: after nearly 2 weeks, still no support despite multiple tickets. Completely unacceptable that the app barely works and customer support is nowhere to be found. Furthermore the app doesn’t support analysis past 2 years, so insights is useless in the long term. I am in the process of transferring the data to Monarch and will drop everydollar as soon as it’s done. What a waste of my time and money.

Can’t open the app with prompting an update after I updated.

Now it’s unusable. Says to update but just goes back and forth between the App Store and the App. Honestly this app sucks. It takes forever for the purchases to populate. This is supposed to help us budget not cause a bunch of issues. Uninstalling and unsubscribing.
