Homebase: Employee Scheduling

The free tier is misleading, and you don’t find out until after you’ve already signed up, set up everything in the app, and the free trial runs out. The free tier is supposedly “free for up to 10 employees”, and they advertise “basic time tracking” as included in the free tier. They make it look like the app is part of the free tier, but it’s really not, at least not in any meaningful way. It even says above that you can use the time clock from any phone or tablet. HOWEVER, the time clock is NOT available in the app on the free tier. It is only available on the web or tablet, which doesn’t work for my setup. I literally only have ONE employee and need the app to allow this employee to clock in and out, that’s it! And the free tier won’t even let me do that. Very misleading advertising about the free tier. I would be willing to pay a one time fee for use of the app, but I’m not paying $30 each month for basic clock in/out service.

I was happy with the basic plan of Homebase for nearly 2 years, until the change from the basic plan supporting 20 employees to now only 10. Support was not helpful besides offering the Essentials plan moving forward. Our organization will be moving to a different platform going forward.

This has to be created by the same people that created cubicles. Having to conform I mean confirm EVERY ACTION has been a nightmare! It has resulted in missed paychecks, missed clock ins, outs and mealtimes. Not to mention the annual cost. It only wants me to take 30 minute lunches then brow beats me every minute until I clock back in but you have to be at the shop if I’m in the field there’s no recourse for that creating more work for everyone else.

Support was extremely slow and not helpful. At all. The lay out could be much more clear and organized. It feels like there’s 10 folders within a section, but there’s also more sections within those. For what it has to offer, there’s more dynamic options that also allow you to write your schedule in app and even compare sales and see them real time. We considered home base as an option, created accounts to test it out, and it’s been extremely difficult to delete and edit our accounts. (As in delete them bc we don’t need them) Boo Homebase.

Stay away from this app. They constantly changing stuff, leaving functions out that you're use too, as of now can't see even employees hours on decimal time or industrial time format. They just took it out with a new update just like that.

Cash out worked but the customer service is rude af. Regenlyn was so rude to me and theyre so many discrepancies in the amounts they charge and they amounts they give you. I started using them in august .. they tried to charge me talking about something about July .. thats giving scam to me.. i never even heard of them in July.

Does not support Cash App PayPal or any bank that has no transactions from when you were unemployed. Pathetic. I wouldn’t even give it one star but that’s the lowest rating that I’m allowed to give. I only give it about half a star.

Would be nice to get messages when all notifications are turned on.

Removed the ability to see the number of hours worked per shift. Employees now need to successfully do the math to figure out total hours worked. Totally pointless for us to keep paying for this

I hate the update! I can’t see the date that employees work easily anymore-have to click into each individual entry-terrible layout

2026 and a shift management app can’t even sync with Google Calendar…

This app only open once for me every time I download it. After that, it’s just a white screen with a spinning downloading circle, and it will not open. It could spin for hours. I’m not sure why, but it’s very frustrating. Nobody can get a hold of me on it. I can’t login to do what I need to do. I can’t log in and out on it.

Homebase had gone downhill. The availability function works only when it wants to. Switching locations works if you cross your fingers. The cashout integration hasn’t worked on iPhones in 2 weeks and support ghosts you. Started my trial with another app.

The new update on the earnings section is terrible the old earnings section was way better and way easier to understand.

This app takes forever to open and whenever it FINALLY opens and I try to request time off it will glitch- the screen will go black- and my phone will stop for several seconds. Most annoying app I’ve ever had to use.

Switching between locations no longer works. When choosing from the dropdown at the top the location doesn’t switch. If I close the app and reopen the newly selected location loads. This is on an iPhone pro max 15 fully patched. Also when editing someone’s time card, the time is half off the bottom of the screen and isn’t readable until a new selection is made.

i use this app for my work & had an agreement pop up that included AI making the schedule—business owner later will approve. This is so lazy and outrageous. I do not want AI creating my work schedule. If I deny the agreement, it logs me out.

I have to restart the app sometimes 4 times before anything loads, often making our employees late for work. Any button you press on the app to go to a new page reverts you to the previous page then you have to hit the button again. At the end of every shift it asks “why didn’t you take this break?” When there was no break required, even if the employee has already taken a break. You work 10 minutes and it tells you to take a lunch break. If you try to clock in even 15 seconds early it tells you you need a manager to approve. It’s a very poor app

First, During 24’ the celebrations in Homebase was a useful tool to highlight the significance our peers and now its such a boring part of the app. What is the point of removing the celebrations emblems and clean UI it once had to replace it with a garbage UI and soulless chat. At that point just remove celebrations… Second, WHERE ARE MY SHIFT BUDDIES! That was an important piece for Homebase because I could see the crew who would be working that day to inform other people from work who were going to be insight. We need shift buddies back!

This app is ok. But the feature to cash out is amazing but….. it has NOT BEEN WORKING. Contacted support and they say it’s on Apple phones, the androids are working fine. I need my money… now! Fix it!

When it hit cash out on the setting tab it displays a portal over the app that allows me to select 0-100$ cash out either instantly for $5 or a couple days later for free. It doesn’t matter which option it hit. The button toggles. And the screen acts like it’s loading then goes RIGHT back to the same screen with no completion message. Bugged. No deposit was made. It worked last pay cycle not since last last Friday has it worked.
