Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Stop Changing My Ovulation Date

★★ · v5.9.1 · Oct 8, 2026

Really frustrating that the app changes the date of my ovulation depending on when my period starts because of antiquated understanding that the luteal phase must be a certain length. Let the data speak for itself, do not change the data to fit a narrative. Also very misleading in that the app makes you believe you can track ovulation with temperature alone. You also need to be tracking at least cervical fluid or cervical position as well. There have been times when it says I’m not fertile but I still have very clear ovulatory cervical fluid indicating otherwise. Do better.

Frustrating

★★ · v5.9.1 · Oct 4, 2026

I bought the clear blue kit for NC, and nothing connected to the app. It wouldn’t let me continue without an Apple Watch, but of course my Apple Watch doesn’t have body temperature. Very frustrating there was no way to manually enter my basal body temp with the thermometer and kit I BOUGHT, and to keep being pushed to buy something more.

Will not refund.

★★ · v5.9.1 · Oct 3, 2026

Please note refund policy! The company will not refund the $150 yearly subscription.

Unexpected $162 Charge and No Response from Customer Service

★ · v5.9.1 · Oct 2, 2026

Very disappointed with Natural Cycles. I was charged $161.99 for a subscription renewal without any clear warning or notification. I had understood that my Oura offer included a year of access, so this charge was completely unexpected. I reached out to customer service about the charge and never received a response. I also found that Flo provides very similar fertility-tracking information without the same expensive subscription. Charging $162 without a clear renewal reminder and then not responding to a customer’s request for help is extremely frustrating. I would not recommend this app based on my experience.

Scammers

★ · v5.9.1 · Oct 1, 2026

Beware, this company will charge you before your subscription is due or even if you have already canceled your subscription. Best part is once you request a refund they refuse!

50 steps then pay

★ · v5.9.0 · Sep 25, 2026

This app will ask you to provide a lot of data and then 50 steps down the road they want $100 without even letting you to see how this app looks or works.

Too expensive and customer service is terrible

★ · v5.9.0 · Sep 23, 2026

Overcharge for their service and the customer service team isn’t helpful.

Paid Subscription

★ · v5.9.0 · Sep 22, 2026

Go through a whole process of signing up for the app (which takes like 2-3 minutes) only to get hit with a paid subscription. That is my biggest pet peeve. There should be a disclaimer that this is NOT a free app so that people who don’t want to pay for a subscription don’t waste their time with it. You have the option of an annual plan for $149 or a monthly plan for $22??? Like what? Why is everything a subscription nowadays?? Ridiculous. It’s getting the point where every app you download expects you to pay a monthly subscription. I’m not paying $149 for an app I don’t even know if I’d like?? Why isn’t there a free version? Or at least a free trial?? Ridiculous.

Recent updates have made app glitchy

★★ · v5.9.0 · Sep 15, 2026

This is the best hormone free birth control/app. I’ve been using for years. The past app updates have made the app more glitchy and less user friendly. Not sure what’s going on with user experience over there

Have to pay

★ · v5.9.0 · Sep 14, 2026

Can’t use without paying

Watch out for hidden fees

★ · v5.8.4 · Sep 10, 2026

Charges you a ridiculous yearly fee and sends you a non de script email assuming you won’t cancel in time. No refunds in their cancellation policy is how they trap you.

Sneaky and Dishonest

★ · v5.8.4 · Sep 9, 2026

I had the free trial of this app when I purchased my Oura ring. I guess when I created a profile it connected to my apple ID, therefor when they sent out the “reminder” email I never received it. How was I supposed to know this? These kinds of practices are deceptive and sneaky, a way for them to get their $150 and i had no clue. Mind you, i’ve only had access to the “demo” version of the app despite them taking $150 of my hard earned dollars as well. I am extremely upset and now I will not be able to afford this months bills. But I am glad Natural Cycles got their $150.

NC + Oura

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 28, 2026

The app feels outdated. You have to manually log oura data into NC. Some features are hard to understand. Way overpriced

Downhill the past year-about to discontinue use after 5 years

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 28, 2026

UPDATE: The app now relies heavily on ovulation tests to “predict” ovulation. Logging ovulation tests changes green and red days. This is extremely problematic and adds another opportunity for user error for an app that is supposed to be relying on an algorithm based on basal body temperature. Your customer support is non responsive and your development team obviously does NOT take these reviews or submitted suggestions for improvements into consideration despite your copy and paste replies or else we would have seen the changes we’ve asked for by now. The company does not value women’s health- only their bottom line. $159 a year for what? Profits over people. Also, stop shoving AI down our throats. Previous review: Please update to be able to clearly see cycle day when clicking on future dates on the calendar like we used to see. The 2 stars is because recent updates to the app have made it LESS user friendly. More buttons to do the same thing we used to do with fewer buttons. Also the yearly subscription price is astronomical- I have been using this app for almost 5 years and it’s just getting out of control with the pricing. I’ve not seen added value. Being able to tap to focus during the ovulation test reader would be a long awaited and much needed improvement.

Not Enough Info Up Front

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 28, 2026

I bought this app, thinking I had a compatible garmin device to use with it. By the time I figured out only certain models work and mine isn’t one, I had already paid for the monthly subscription. I’m not going to spend $200+ on a new device on top of the price of the app. It’s just not worth it, I’m not that far into trying/tracking yet. It’s upsetting that I didn’t even use the app at all, and I got charged the full fee—imagine if I had gone ahead and paid for the year up front!! Feels gross to me.

Pointless and inaccurate

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 26, 2026

Have been using this app along with oura ring for temp tracking. I have regular periods and after 6 months of use it still tells me every day is a ‘use protection’/‘red’ day, except during the days I’m actually on my period. And my periods are regular, which tells me their algorithm for prediction is just awful.

Not for night shift workers

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 24, 2026

The NC compatible wearables only use data taken from 7p-10am. NC states you only need 4 hours of sleep which isn’t accurate, after speaking to customer support you’ll find out you need 4 hours of sleep within 7p-10am. If you get home from work at 7am like I do your data wont be taken even if sleeping 8 hours straight. This information needs to be stated up front so shift workers don’t waste their money or time trying to get data to appear.

App is good but they are going woke.

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 22, 2026

Pretty good app for us better than any hormone drug or device but me and my wife don't like how woke they are getting. Not as friendly if you want to have baby and they're starting to use the terms “people who menstruate” versus “women”. Which this app is entirely for women not mutilated men.

What's the point?

★★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 22, 2026

I got a free 28 day trial, so I decided to try it. However, I can't even add any data because I'm in "demo mode" so it shows me fake data. What's the point in the free trial if I can't even use it? Also I want to stay on my hormonal birth control, since it's more effective than the app, I just wanted to use the app to track my periods but I can't even add the days I have my periods. It's pretty frustrating and I don't even see the point in having it.

Scam

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 19, 2026

I downloaded this so I could track my temp throughout the day so I can track my fertility but you need to buy a subscription just to use the damn app, there’s other apps out there that could do the same thing but free! This app is a money hungry scam demanding money off of women wanting to know more about their bodies. Edit cause I’m mad about this: So first of all you want to protect our data but put a price tag on it? You should want to protect it without us paying. Also when did I mention birth control, cause I didn’t, I wanted to be able to track my temperature with my Apple Watch throughout the day so I can track my cycle more accurately. I can understand having a subscription to obtain more information and have other stuff in the app like Flo and other period tracker apps do but having a free to download app but I have to pay in the app to even use it seems scummy. The developer that responded to me really didn’t respond to my review and seemed to just copy and paste a response in just to make me “happy” which pisses me off more. If you’re constantly getting negative reviews for the same thing, it really tells you something that the developers should fix. Respectfully do better.

Sketchy Refund Policy

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 18, 2026

I checked out this app through an Oura ring trial that I was provided. I tried this out and didn’t care for needing to track my cycle on three different applications. I much prefer using Stardust and Oura. I did not remember how long the trial was for, and forgot to cancel in time and was unexpectedly charged the $149.99 fee. With how expensive living is right now it comes at a huge inconvenience to me and my family as school is starting soon and those funds would’ve been useful for my child’s school supplies instead of an app I won’t be using. Contacted customer service and they are so anal about the fact that they sent a courtesy reminder and since I didn’t cancel at that point that I just have to eat the cost. Don’t even try them there are better apps out there.

Hate this App, now I’m stuck with it for another year

★ · v5.8.4 · Aug 18, 2026

Hate this app and now I’m stuck for it for another year. Tried for pregnancy for a year and wasn’t helpful at all. From the ovulation tracking to the period tracking, didn’t do anything more than the oura app. If anything it was more inaccurate. An app is suppose to simplify one’s life, not complicate it. So with the app and service and 100% not satisfied with outcome. Frustrated by this app.

Scummy Business Practices

★ · v5.8.3 · Aug 13, 2026

SUPER scummy business practices, you get one very discrete email reminding you about your $150 subscription payment- then they REFUSE a refund even if you cancel and request it within the hour it was charged, even if you’re pregnant and no longer using the app. There are other apps that track your cycle just as well- pick one that’s not in the business of screwing over new moms.

Have to pay for this.

★ · v5.8.3 · Aug 11, 2026

I just got an Oura ring and wanted to sync my cycle up with it but you have to pay $20 a month for this app. Absolutely crazy.

Unhappy, poor quality, not worth it

★ · v5.8.3 · Aug 11, 2026

Do not recommend using this app to follow your pregnancy. It is inaccurate and misleading. I have free apps that are more accurate and much more informative. Highly displeased.
