#86 top-grossing, Utilities
Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Couldn’t get this to work and it was a total pain getting the service cancelled
Trash customer service. Won’t cancel and keeps billing me and doesn’t send out renewal notices.
Naturally times are tough right now. I missed an email from them to remind me of my yearly renewal and because I missed that email on the day that they build me they will not reverse and Credit Me we both lost our jobs times are tough but you know what here let me just tell you this I’ll never use them again and I have been using them for years so they lost years of account over just crediting back and pausing for a few months until things get back to normal I highly recommend to not deal with this company at all. I highly recommend to go to and give NordVPN a try, because I will be moving to that app from here on out.
Charged me for a year without my knowledge and automatically had on auto renew (I didn’t know). No refund or account assessment was made
Wanted to try the app for a week (said there was a free 7 day Trial) charged my account $89.99 the next, how about don’t advertise trials if you’re not gonna honor it, especially at a high price point 👎🏽🤡
Never connects to city I choose.
Iffy
Typically and recently, I have to restart the VPN or reconnect because my browser or app I am using says no internet connection. So when I disable the vpn and restart it everything works. Starting to get annoying. Connect on demand feature does not work. :(
Company is an absolute joke with customer service. All emails are responded to with AI garbage with little attention to the customer. Don’t even attempt to receive a refund, you will be met with a long, drawn-out “no” reiterated by AI wordsmithing from their website. For this reason, avoid this company. They are thieves.
App directly asking your email, name and your credit card info, also you cannot connect public wifi by using this crab because of their vpn servers were already banned.. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Doesn’t work connection error, sent email to support.
What else can you do
Warning beware of this app they’re only concerned with money I reached out for answers as to why I’m charged twice each month and found out there are two accounts on my card. I told them I have no access to the other email but no refund issued I’m going to another trustworthy ip app where I won’t get charged twice each month for accounts I can’t access. I guess someone got free IPVanish on me.
IP Vanish over charges to renew!! I stoped auto renewals and up still renewed at a higher price of $99.99 they advertised at $24.yearly
They used to be good but now all the networks get congested and it slows way down. They need to update there servers or add a bunch or it’s pointless. Even when you find a good one for streaming it’s gets congested after you are in the middle of watching something and starts giving you problems.
I canceled my subscription over a year ago, and thought that that was sufficient. I was wrong, I was somehow reactivated and was charged a significant amount more not through my card but through my PayPal. I called immediately asking to please refund my money but they said they would not. It was an awful experience they said they would give me 69% back. Yet I was charged $107 then week later $117. I asked for my reimbursement it was a long process. I was charged $15 in the interim then finally received some of my money back.
CONSUMER BEWARE!!! I paid for a two-year subscription during a promo for ipVanish in April of 2025. In March of this year (2026), while adding one of the TVs in my house to my account, I noticed what the renewal price for one year was going to be (a LOT!) so I decided I was not going to continue service with them after my two-year subscription ended. At that time, I still had a bit over one year left, so while I wasn't in a hurry, I began looking for how to remove my payment information from their site so I didn't forget and end up being charged an exorbitant amount later. The platform is *not* user friendly, and no matter where I looked, I could not find where to change or remove my payment information. I contacted support, who did respond timely and provided instructions for canceling my membership - which they said would not happen until my current paid term was up (April, 2027). Great! Life was life'ing and it wasn't until about 3 months later that I finally got back around to logging back in and following their instructions, which I did to the tee. It brought me to the cancellation screen, however, their system would not let me save the changes, continuing to pop up an error message telling me that I could not cancel, and to "contact support." Ok, frustrating. I responded to the same email chain I had with "CJ," who I had gone back and forth with multiple times by this point. I emailed him screenshots of what was happening, asking for help. I started having issues accessing my account at this point and was eventually logged out, unable to access my account at all, even through resetting my password. My service on both my TVs also stopped working. I again contacted support telling them what was going on, with screenshots, at which point they asked me to verify my personal information to ensure the account was mine, which I did. They also asked for my credit card information. RED FLAG! I told them "no, I have provided all of my personal contact information used to sign up and I am emailing you from the email address that I have on file with you. I'm not giving you my credit card number." They still demanded my credit card info and refused to do anything until and unless I provided it. The whole point of all of this was to remove my payment information from their website - at which point they figured out that I did not wish to continue on with their service after my paid membership time would end (many months down the road) and suddenly my account no longer works and they are refusing to help? If it walks like a scam, and talks like a scam, it's a SCAM to me! I now have been jipped out of nearly half the membership term I paid for, and may have to cancel my credit card before April, as I do not trust them. Negative, frustrating experience. Once you sign up and they have your card on file, they make it impossible for you to cancel. And from reading the reviews of many others (go to Trust Pilot to read), I'm finding they regularly pull this. And then they give the same song and dance response to the reviewer that "oh no, that sounds so frustrating, that's not what we want! Contact ua so we can fix it." Don't fall for it! It's all a front to try to fix their tarnished image. I have filed a complaint with BBB and I am signing up for a new VPN service elsewhere. CONSUMER BEWARE!
I downloaded this app to see if it would do what i needed, first told me i needed a subscription to use the app but they had either a 3 day free trial or a week and i selected the free trial and the app ended up not being what i needed so i cancelled the free trial and deleted the app. a few days later i get a app notification that this app billed me anyways and i requested a refund but only gave me some of my money back so im currently in the process of getting my money back from them but did not appreciate being charged when i literally made sure to cancel out the free trial before their monthly subscription would come out! - UPDATE, make it known what people are getting into before clicking confirm to sign up for your subscriptions then, almost every other app would give a refund for this inconvenience especially if they want it resolved the day of.
First of all, the protection is very poor. My secure VPN connection was dropped multiple times, without any sort of notification. When I asked for a refund, they refused to honor their 30-day money back guarantee, which was clearly advertised on their website for the monthly subscription.
After paying and subscribing, my account was never updated and it kept showing that I needed to subscribe even after getting charged and it showed in my Apple profile that I had the subscription active. After deleting and downloading it again multiple times and nothing was changing I gave up.
Signed up for the monthly subscription. Kept getting an error code when trying to create and login into my account.
I didn’t sign up for this and was charged $90
It’s not fair to me I can’t log in with the pasword and I have to be paying for the service I can’t use try reaching out but getting no answers
If you try and cancel the subscription through the IOS subscriptions tab they will not honor that cancellation.
My ring & other apps are not working, even though I did the split function and added the website. It is totally messing up my phone. I don’t recommend this app. I’m going to cancel.
What would it take to build a viable competitor, what would it cost to run every month, and a prompt to get started. Generated from the reviews on file; one LLM call per brief. Set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for a real brief; the stub only fills in a template.
