PDF Expert: Editor & Reader

Every Readdle app becomes a bait & switch treadmill. iOS is such a joke operating system plagued by app developers who aren’t content to sell you software just once, since Apple constantly changes the APIs. Compressing a file is a basic feature. I’m not paying again for that and you should be ashamed.

If you want to edit pdf you need to pay. Doesn’t seem to align with description.

I’ve been using pdf expert for years and it’s been really good. However, for some reason, recently the sync feature for google drive folders is not working properly. The files don’t begin uploading properly. It just buffers and then the whole app stops working. Need a fix for this asap. PLEASE HELP!

I’m VERY disappointed with the updated app - it sacrifices efficiency & usefulness for aesthetics. Additionally, a tool consistency suggestion I made several years ago made its way into the app for Mac but remains unchanged on the iPad version. I think it may be time to change to Bluebeam.

I love this app, normally, but a recent update made the app’s interface (the bar of tools at the top of the page) white and I hate it! It makes the whole thing feel like one page when it isn’t. It confuses things, and is altogether just frustrating. I don’t ever click to just have my PDF displayed, but this makes my skin crawl in a way that makes me not want to use this app anymore. Please make it changeable back to the black, because otherwise, you just ruined a perfectly good app.

I have been trying for several weeks to get in and cancel this and it still has not been canceled. They can get your money in a second when it comes to it taking several weeks and it still hasn’t been canceled

I knew this would happen everyone does it. I paid for this app and they took all of the functionality I depend on every day and stuck it behind a subscription paywall. They Stole tools i paid for and said nope you want it back you can pay $50 a year. I can't go back I cant downgrade to the last version theres no way to do that on iphone. I depend on this app and the day I need to use it in the field something I paid for is being held for ransom. I will be finding another company to depend on I guess

Squeeze action on Apple Pencil doesn’t bring up the tool palette advertised on the App Store. Double tap works fine.

When you think about this should cheaper.

PDF Expert is the number 1 app I use on the iPad. Unfortunately the recent UI update is a significant step backwards. All sorts of UI seem misaligned, on the toolbar and tabs. I wish I could downgrade, or will have to find another app.

Interface is a junkyard, I don’t want an account, AI, or have to dig through menus to find a clean read mode. My god

This whole site is terrible. Nothing works as it should. Needs fixed immediately or my company will use a competitor and move on.

This is the second time they’ve done layout changes and removed actual good features, it’s slo,y getting worse and worse to use id recommend finding a diff app before this one gets unusable. I’ve been using them for almost 5 years and I’m done with their awful changes so I’ll be looking for a new one myself.

The new UI is terrible and tiring to my eyes. Even Apple allows to modify liquid glass in ios27 but u don't?

Before the iOS 27 update, whenever I conecetd an external display there was a “presenting” mode that would mirror my PDF with extra features, but now its gone…

Since the iOS 27 update, the presentation view is broken. Instead of showing only the current page to the AirPlay receiver, it only enters the “limited interface” view, and still shows the editing interface and swipe page transitions to the audience. I contacted support yesterday and have not yet heard back. Before this, I had a minor bug or two, but was largely quite happy with the features and ability to customize the app.

From UI to buggy Dropbox integration to the subscription and paywall we feature nagging.

I have been trying to use this and I have the Pro version, but it keeps corrupting my PDFs when I edit them. I am opening from Files > OneDrive. At this point, I have to use another editor. I really hope this issue gets fixed soon.

PDF Expert is trying to get me to pay for a subscription when I paid to have everything fully unlocked as a bundle years ago. What a rip off. why is it that every time there is an update you take away my services that I had before when I bought the bundle years ago and paid extra so that I had no restrictions and I could convert my PDFs. Now I keep getting these stupid notices to get a subscription when I already had the service to convert PDFs unlimited. I will never ever get a subscription I'm glad a reviewer mentioned Ilovepdf.com, it's free. Your app pro bundle that I bought years ago is not worth paying for over and over, again and again and again! I don't do subscriptions for anyone

Cannot edit whatsoever. Must pay $50 for a simple edit.

Everything is great except out of the blue when I am in edit mode, it identifies similar character pairs of letters and separates them from the text block and I have to go back delete the separated characters and re type them all if I can find them. This can be so annoying and has cost me considerable time especially annoying when I am in a hurry.

This garbage app used to be top-tier. They took away features just to add a sub subscription model. Stay away from this application.

Cost way too much money for a pdf editor.

I opened the app, immediately hit with the paid pro version offer. I tried to edit the text of my PDF, you have to pay for the pro version. I tried to convert it to a word doc; I have to pay for the pro version! The app is useless if you don’t pay. Hence, I deleted it. Good riddance.

Can’t even open up a file from my iPad downloads. What’s the point? This was my favorite but haven’t used in a few years, clearly it’s changed for the worse.
