Loopsy - Crochet & Knitting

It won’t let me cancel, I’ve tried weeks ago and it’s still trying to charge my card. SO DONT GET THIS APP

I have tried to use it with 2 patterns now but it freezes each time I open one. I didn’t intend to pay for Pro but forgot to cancel in time so now I’ve paid for a year’s worth of a completely useless app.

This app takes you to different websites so you can search for patterns. Just like Google does for free.

I paid for one month and it was cool but now that I cancelled my subscription, the app stopped working properly and keeps getting frozen.

Functionally I really liked Loopsy. But it would never sync across my devices. I could live with that. What I couldn’t live with was getting a new phone and losing all of my inventory and projects and statuses. I have cancelled the subscription especially since the company y stopped replying to me after my first inquiry on the syncing across devices. Very disappointing.

UPDATE: Still 1 star. Developer said to update it, so I did, and then the smart patterns I already had disappeared. Mid project. So essentially, I’ve paid to lose my progress. Refund pro users!!!!! As someone who has a collection of pdf patterns I’ve acquired over time, being able to upload them and convert them to smart patterns was a selling point for the pro plan. I paid for a year of it just a couple of months ago and then Loopsy removes the feature entirely. As a consumer, I am no longer receiving the service I paid for now that the app has updated - I just went to upload one of my pdf patterns and there’s no more smart pattern option. This change was poorly executed by Loopsy, as paid annual subscribers should have been grandfathered into keeping the feature until their subscription was up for renewal. But now the option is completely removed from the app and I have like 10 more months on my subscription and I don’t even have the feature I paid for.

I reached out to them twice to get some assistance and I never got a response on how to solve my issue. The first reason was that they didn’t receive my email, so I emailed them again explaining it again, and I never got a response from them! Very disappointed!

The app constantly crashes to the point where it’s useless. I fell for the “first month for $1.99” gimmick and it’s been literally unusable. I can’t get any pattern to open to use or anything. The second I try to click into a feature the app freezes. I’ve tried restarting the app and my phone, and deleting and redownloading. Do not waste your money.

All of my notations disappeared, and I cannot get them back. What a waste of my money and Time.

The smart pattern feature was a feature included with the subscription on this app. They removed this feature with no kind of notification to users that were paying the subscription for the app. I’m glad this happened before my yearly subscription renewed. Overall I love the app, but the smart pattern feature was the reason I paid for it.

download the app because when i came across it on the ad it said and i quote “I made the the crochet app I wanted to exist and made it free because yarn is already expensive.” why advertise as being free when not

I have really enjoyed using this app and paid for the premium license. I chose this app specifically for the smart pattern feature, which was removed from the latest update without warning. I understand that this was done to protect pattern creators, however I think an alternative should have been identified rather than removing the best feature of the app. For example, making it so that patterns cannot be shared or have to be verified as being paid for. Very disappointed how this was handled.

The last update has removed the smart pattern function, which is a major appeal to the app. It was fantastic until that disappeared, now it is no different than all other apps or websites.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I paid for Loopsy Pro because I wanted to use its pattern tools across my devices. Unfortunately, the app still does not sync properly between my iPhone and iPad. That makes it difficult to work on a pattern on one device and pick it up on the other. I’ve contacted support by text multiple times about the problem, but the responses have been minimal and it remains unresolved. Then, in the most recent update, Loopsy removed the Smart Pattern feature without any notice that I saw. Being able to turn my patterns into smart patterns was part of the value of the Pro subscription for me. I’m now paying for a feature I can no longer access, on top of dealing with the ongoing sync issue. I understand that apps change, but removing a paid feature during an active subscription without warning is frustrating. I would like a refund for my Pro subscription. I also hope Loopsy clearly communicates changes to paid features and gives customers meaningful support when something isn’t working.

Purchased the annual subscription for the Smart Pattern feature that turned a pdf pattern into workable steps which was perfect for a beginner like me. The update took out that tool. Now this app is just like all others with zero reason to keep. Now I’m out $$ and NOT happy! I feel the app was a bait and switch for $$. I want my money back or at least a partial refund!

I love the app but it will not sync between my iPad and my iPhone! I have “reported a bug” several times but get no response. It is frustrating because I use my iPad to see the pattern and I use my iPhone for the counter. I’ve tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and have to manually add ALL of the patterns and info back in. I would give the app 5 stars IF they fixed their syncing issues. It would be nice if they would respond to my inquiries as well, they just left me hanging out there😢. Switched to 1 star and canceling my pro subscription. They took away the smart pattern option for extracting patterns and ad blocking. I can manually extract patterns and enter the instructions on my inotes. No need to pay for this app. I’m really disappointed and would like my money back. This was complete bait and switch!

Your ad on Facebook said it was free because yarn was already expensive. So I got excited. But then found out that you have to pay a subscription. When I was setting up my app I hit a paywall and couldn’t go pass. Some people can’t afford that. That’s why we look for the free apps.

This app steals patterns from designers. It scrapes content from their sites and YouTube videos and allows users to upload purchased pdfs and makes all of that stolen content available to users without paying the designers anything. It’s copyright infringement and theft.

They literally don’t let you opt out of the free trial, which feels super sketch to me. Even if it’s free it feels predatory and unnecessary.

Was forced into the week’s free trail for the pro version. Said there would be a reminder before the $39.99 charge for a year’s subscription to the pro version. You know they hope you forget! I got an emailed notice from Apple about it and requested a refund on the same day of the charge because I did not intend to pay that much for a subscription. I just wanted to try it out. Thanks to Apple for granting that refund! Not a fan of being forced into the free trial.

I do not recommend this app. It’s not beginner friendly. I forgot to cancel the subscription and my refund was denied so I decided to see if I could use it cause I do want to try this as a hobby and it is the most complicated app I’ve ever dealt with. You can’t access the actual patterns, just gives a silent failure. Some of the patterns say you have to pay for them on a different website. I’m just really disappointed in this because it’s useless.

I downloaded because it said it was free, but a free trial does not mean it’s actually free. Not really interested in trying an app that requires a trial to use it. No thanks.

First they make you agree to the trial twice to finish signing up, THEN you can x out of it at the last minute. But when I tried to import patterns? Couldn’t save them without agreeing to the free trial. Tried multiple ways and nope. Wouldn’t save my patterns that I already have. I’ll just organize them in files instead. I can access my files from all my devices anyway. This was a frustrating waste of time.
