onX Hunt: GPS Hunting Maps

I love this app when using it on my android phone and I’ve hade and paid for it for many many years. I also have an iPad that I like to have with me for bigger screen experience. I hate that I have to have the iPad upright for all the options to orientate correctly. If you try to rotate the screen to landscape the screen just stays sideways as well as all the buttons. If you could fix that I would 100% give it 5 stars!!

Do not go off the property boundaries in Kentucky. They are wrong. It shows someone else owns my property in 2 different locations. It also shows I own another person’s property and house, this is not true. Fix or update this app. I’m tired of constantly having to tell people to get off my property. One person even used this app to create a new property boundary and posted the property I have owned for 20 years. So I say again. Fix your app. It’s been 2 years and you still haven’t updated your mapping. If one more person is on my property hunting because your app told them they can. I’ll be forced to get an attorney. You have my property listed as LDF property. Fix this now

The app glitched and said I don’t have my subscription anymore when I do and I lost 5 years worth of pins. Actually at a loss of words right now, all that work and years of scouting and it’s all gone

I have paid for this app for since it first came out. 3 years ago I wanted to add North Dakota to my list. I am now traveling back and wanted to see why North Dakota still wasn’t a state i had I emailed them asking for change and update. They sent me a update on the app I clicked it got logged out when I logged back in I now don’t have any property lines for my state or North Dakota and all my pins and tracks have been deleted. When I contacted them frustrated and saying I wanted my subscription canceled they are now telling me I don’t have an account. This company is absolute garbage. BUY SPARTAN FORGE

I can’t use this app. My iPhone 15 with no case on it would continue to get hotter and hotter until it crashed. I’d get about 5 minutes of choppy use before it failed.

Property lines not included on basic.

So when the app works it works and when it doesn’t which it did while I was on a solo hunt it really really doesn’t work. It wasn’t showing me on the map and when it was I was no where near where it was showing. This resulted in me ditching it and terrain associating in the dark to find my way back to camp. Why pay for something that’s going to fail when it’s needed. Also the OnX staff are shady chars trying to buy up blocks of hunts from local outfitters whether that’s to resale or just keep the everyday out of stater from being able to enjoy public lands with a guided hunt or drop camp.

You have to subscribe to even use the 7 day free trial and then unsubscribe just to even see what this app can do. Not wiling to subscribe when I don’t even know what this is about. Just a worse version of Google Maps without subscribing

When i open the app it just starts spamming me with wanting permissions to my location and data. It wont even let me choose an option it just flickers and gets my phone really hot

As a private property owner, this app is the worst! They start my property line about 30 ft from my property line. I have argued with people standing on my property that the map is wrong. I have had to call the sheriff because

Absolutely liars said it was free but it was not free at all. I had to pay a monthly subscription. and I did not know there was a subscription for it.

App doesn’t update frequent enough. It’s bout 2-3 years behind in north ms

App is designed and coded horribly

I love so much about this app. I have used it religiously this past year hunting elk. But there are some MAJOR quirks that should be ironed out. If you use this like I have, you will understand why these are hellish quirks. When you are in the field in a remote area, no service, and exhausted, trying to traverse some intense backcountry- having the map shift back to its normal position is maddening. Re-opening reorientates the map and it is frustrating ESPECIALLY when you’re hiking 12+ hours. Why can’t it pick up from the same angle you left it??! And the other even MORE annoying and frustrating part is when you are in 3d trying to adjust your angle and go to far it shifts into 2D and force reorients the map as well??? Devs- I beg of you to look into this and fix it. It would be GOLD after that. These issues although somewhat minor, have had a major impact on my overall enjoyment of the other awesome parts of the app.

When land changes hands owners not updated. How can this be made more efficient? Property lines inaccurate in my experience.

I was having trouble with my onX Hunt app and was told by onX help that they would never take my calls etc. moving forward. Does that sound like an app you would want? 2 much better hunting apps 1. Spartan Forge & CalTopo. Those two run circles around onX.

I own farmland, I am not a hunter myself , but I support those that do hunt. I use onX for its measuring tools on my land to benefit wildlife habitat on my acreage. I have found onX impossible to get answers from on questions that I have on my account due to their AI management. Their company is a 3 legged operation. 1 is onX 2 is the hunter 3 is land owners. Without number 3 1 & 2 are in a bind. I have found the impossible to reach through their AI management. There are answers for hunters on drop down lists but nothing for landowner or accounts, unless one wants to upgrade tones account. onX spends too much effort on hunting & too little on service for the customers the other 2 legs. They need to change priorities so that everybody is a winner.

I paid for a yearly subscription of 1 state and I cant use this app. 1 out of 10 times it will work and the rest it says to upgrade but when I go to upgrade, it says I already have a membership but won’t show me any details. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it still doesn’t work. I’m at a loss.

Satellite maps are outdated. Unable to plan hunts effectively because maps are sometimes 5+ years old and don’t reflect current plant growth. Old satellite maps show clear cuts with early succession when actually location is maturing trees. Onx - update the maps!!

The app is not even close to 100 percent accurate we had some logging company come on our property because on x property lines showed them there we had to call the cops because they were going by on x hunt we even showed them the survey pins unreal so be careful!!!!!!!

I trialed this a year ago and was right on the money … then I did a 1yr subscription last month and it’s ridiculously off - significantly. Basically it’s just a landowner name look up which I could get for free on the county his - can’t trust it to be accurate where it counts … when you think you’re within land boundaries and it turns out you’re not.

Update ruined everything.

I pay over 100$ a year for this app to not allow me to spin a 360 to get different angles. A problem I’ve had for a few years. Everyone I know that has this app has the same problem. Fix it.
