Budget Bestie

Yeah i liked how it was going when i was setting it up but it disappointed me when i realized im apparently not even able to use the app with paying for it. So no thanks, if im paying for an app then i’d like it to be something actually benefiting me. Theres other apps that do the same thing for free :/

this new look is awful and ugly. there should at least be an option for both the old version and new. it’s so hard to read! might be switching apps

It would’ve been nice but I’m so over monthly subscriptions for everything.

Never mentioned that you had to pay, when the whole purpose of the app is to help save.

What a way to advertise without saying it costs anything. Talk about misinformation. And to use an app that looks like a toddler coded it on a computer. I want my 14 dollars back yall took from me AFTER I PUT IN AL MY BILLS. Had me excited use it after sitting there typing in all my bills for what. NOTHING . Waste of time.

Why would anyone want to pay a bunch of money when the whole point of the app is to save money?? Marketing also never mentioned it costs money.

No where does it say this is a subscription based app. I’m very disappointed. It suck’s because for someone who’s trying super hard to be diligent and work hard towards being better with their money - to find out you only get a 3 day trial and then have to pay $9 a month or $70 for the year??? Is absolutely insane. The deception is unreal. I understand companies need to make money but you can’t expect people to be happy when you hide something like that after making the customer go through the entire process of putting in their personal information, to then make them want to purchase a subscription based app. Why does EVERYTHING have to be subscription based. Do we have ANY faith left in humanity?

It’s actually so misleading

Every week it doesn’t work. Like I’m trying to press to save my budget for the week and it’s “unable to save”. Does this all the time. What’s the point of PAYING 9 dollars a month

I went through the whole set up process because I really wanted to get a handle on my budget, just for it to tell me once everything was finally set up that it was $90 to actually use!! It took like 30 minutes to set up. It was a total waste of time!!

Entered all my info then hit a paywall. Could not continue without payment. Expensive. Waste of time.

It doesn’t say anything about a subscription when you first sign up and then it has you start and set up all your budgeting and then when you’re finally done and tap next or whatever it tells you that you have to pay for it and you can’t go back and see your progress that you made you either have to pay for the subscription or be logged out immediately deleted off my phone

I don’t mind a pay to use app, but not sharing that until after I finish the whole tutorial AND make an account feels shady!!

not only was it a headache to read with the fonts, but then it completely turned into a zoomed in screen & nothing could be done.. so no thanks

Setup takes a long time only to find out after doing all the work that it isn’t free. The app should have made it clear before I spent an hour on setup.

Says it’s free, but you have to pay for a plan, and can’t create an account unless you do.

To claim something is free but have you fill in all your goals and then force you to pay to even use the app is completely deceptive and intentional. They get you to put time into and then force you to pay a subscription fee to use their app. Just out of principle this is completely wrong

How are you going to make me pay for a budgeting app? Try telling people that the app isn’t free BEFORE they put in all of their information. And OBVIOUSLY you aren’t making it clear enough that it is a “SuBsRiPtIoN bAsEd ApP” if there are so many people in your reviews having the same problem.

I tried to do a free trial and when I clicked it it tried to charge me $9.73 I cancelled it and everything through my settings on my iPhone and it’s still trying to charge me. And I have tried everything to get it to stop trying to charge me

Had to pay $9 to even use enough of the features to make it worth it, but it was too hard to figure out anyway and too limiting. I was looking for an app where I could just create a monthly budget but this made me reload my funds every couple of weeks. Idk when exactly certain payments hit, or some are only quarterly, and this was really limiting to account for certain things like that.

Did all that just to have to pay to budget. Insane.

My response to the developer: It is clear that people are being mislead according to other reviews. Almost all apps have some sort of subscription but they serve ads to generate revenue and allow the user to use the app. I'm not paying for something if I can’t experience the full app and see if it’s something I want to use my hard earned money for. My review still stands. You're collecting our data FOR FREE and your practices are deceiving. I should've read the latest reviews instead of the top ones. Once you spend 30 minutes getting everything entered, your information is held ransom by a pay wall you can't get around. I'd give this 0 stars if I could!

Wanted to really love this app but just needs some more work to make it worthwhile. Lots of glitches and screens freezing. Support seemed like they really wanted to help, however, there were a bunch of reports of the same issue from long ago which makes me feel like they don’t ever end up doing anything to fix it. Before spending any more time organizing and stuffing, I just ended up switching back over to YNAB. More functionality and fits more of what I’m looking for.

once you finish the entire process of making your account and everything, they throw the subscription at you at the very end, and you have to pay to actually use the app. don’t let it fool you if you’re expecting a free budgeting app.

The app presents itself as somewhat free. Originally you are told to put in all your expenses. So I went in, and I put every single expense that I incurred every month, which is way over 20 expenses total. After going through the whole process, they wouldn’t let me see anything until I verified that I was paying them money. If you can’t use the app without paying money, you need to make that clear in the beginning. You are not doing anything but pissing people off by going through the effort to use your app only to find out that it is in fact, not free at all. Not make it seem as if somebody can use the app on a limited basis for free. This is not a free app. I was not expecting much, but I wish that my time wasn’t wasted trying to use it, not knowing that I wasn’t going to be able to.
