Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Workouts Don't Update Correctly

★ · v1.53.4 · Oct 12, 2026

It's supposed to be SMART but no idea why. I'm doing RECOVERY splits so tell me why it keeps recommending exercises I JUST did the day before??? It's literally the reason I moved away from Fitbod. Supposed to recommend RECOVERED muscle groups and has the history I JUST dod that group and recommends it again?? Come on...

1/3rd of my gym equipment

★ · v1.53.4 · Oct 11, 2026

Wondering where a lot of planet fitness equipment is on the app.

Actively getting worse

★★ · v1.53.1 · Sep 30, 2026

Unfortunately over almost two years of use, I’ve found gravls updates are making the app worse and worse. You used to see your records underneath each exercise after you submit a workout - no more. Their plates are hard to tell apart and see. It’s honestly pretty clear they’re pushing vibe-coded updates out because every other week there is an update that adds no meaningful features, just rearranging the app for no benefit to the user

The App Is OK-ish

★★ · v1.52.1 · Sep 21, 2026

Just like the title says. I can see where people would find this app useful. It has promise, but I think the developers rushed the launching. The “AI” is nothing really to write home about. I asked it how I could do a completed workout again and it gave me two different answers. The lack of Landmine exercises. The lack of Kettlebell exercises. The feature that allows you to suggest an exercise isn’t all that great because the “post” button is continually grayed out. The support from an actual human is atrocious. If you ask the staff a question, they’ll mark the ticket as closed without any explanation or resolution. All-in-all, be cautious about using this app. Don’t expect great things and take it for what it’s worth.

Weight recommendations

★ · v1.52 · Aug 27, 2026

The weights the app wants you to use makes no sense. For example lunges 135lbs it wants you to use 35lbs + 5lbs+ 2 2.5lbs plates. When you can just place a 45 plate on and eliminate all the nonsense.

Strength Score

★ · v1.52 · Aug 27, 2026

The strength score is a joke, The AI system doesn’t understand that you can’t always increase weight. There are more but the strength score is an absolute joke, you can’t measure strength the way the developers think…..

Eh

★★ · v1.52 · Aug 25, 2026

Too many glitches other wise perfect app

Not as expected

★ · v1.51 · Aug 24, 2026

So far this app has been disappointing with interaction. They make it difficult to change the weight amount one time. Aka there isn’t one. I thought being AI it would be more interactive it doesn’t seem to also navigating the setting sucks Unfortunately I was not able to try before I bought. I am into for the rest of the year I am sure there are better ones out there but I will use this one until my year is up

New free trial

★ · v1.51 · Aug 20, 2026

I can’t pay for a hefty subscription without trying it. No free trial at all.

Disappointed

★ · v1.51 · Aug 19, 2026

Disappointed because the more I experienced Gravl the more I dislike it. I was excited to try at first because of the emphasis on progressive overload training and it was cheaper than Fitbod. Then I started seeing all the smear campaign ads against Fitbod and I was a little discouraged, but I understand the strategy so I figured I’ll still give it a shot. I cancel my Fitbod and now I can’t even finish completing my profile to even try out Gravl… so I guess I’m going to wing it today for my workout and see how I feel about trying it again tomorrow. I don’t have high hopes though :/.

Confusing.

★ · v1.50 · Aug 13, 2026

Lame tutorial- difficulties saving and retrieving workouts.

Still major bugs

★ · v1.49 · Aug 5, 2026

When I replace exercises it wipes it out and when I replace weight it wipes it out. Had to enter in multiple times in one workout

Overcharging

★★ · v1.49 · Aug 1, 2026

I recently subscribed to this app for what was supposed to be $59.99/year only to be charged $89.98. The description for app renewal also says $59.99. Attempts to contact support failed, as there was no reply to my inquiry. Also, there doesn’t appear to be a trial period for trying the app out, which would be nice.

Has progressively gotten worse…

★★ · v1.49 · Aug 1, 2026

This app started off simple to use and relatively intuitive. Over the past year of using it, it has gotten just worse and worse. Text laid on top of other text, failed searches, missing lists of exercises. All became more and more common. Sad but I won’t be re-upping my subscription.

Buggy Mess

★★ · v1.49 · Jul 31, 2026

Currently the app is a buggy nightmare, having huge issues when replacing movements on the page where you select the replacement. Things overlap, I have to reopen the lift/set page for every set

Errors

★★ · v1.48.1 · Jul 24, 2026

3/4 of the videos showing you how to do the exercises do not work. Also the list gets all jumbled up after clicking on a set done.

Terrible, glitchy

★ · v1.48.1 · Jul 20, 2026

Worst app I’ve ever used. Glitchy, won’t save the workout you’ve created. Changes things you’ve added to your workout. Won’t let you create the split you want or add movements to your sessions. It’s just terrible all around.

Not as good as I thought it would be.

★★ · v1.48.1 · Jul 18, 2026

Glitchy. The app hasn’t recorded any of my workouts. Customer support chat doesn’t respond in a timely manner.

Nope

★ · v1.48.1 · Jul 17, 2026

Cancelled and deleted after one workout. Terrible glitchy buggy nonsensical design.

Odd behavior and too few exercises

★ · v1.48 · Jul 12, 2026

The app seems to have several issues IMHO: 1) It doesn’t really seem to take into account my resistance training experience even though it does ask. 2) It regularly attempts to push me into weights I can’t handle. I guess it uses a very basic algorithm that doesn’t take into account my physiology and repeated corrections. So much for AI driven plans! 3) The one rep max estimation is generally way off for me. It seems overly simplistic and definitely doesn’t seem AI driven. This maybe way I’m having issues in #2 above. 4) The screen doesn’t scale to size for my iPad. 5) Free apps like Caliber have a better selection of exercises. I find that I’m coping exercises from Caliber a lot. 6) The advertising for this app is really starting to turn me off. They are acting like high school bullies IMHO.

Meh. Does what they all do

★ · v1.47.8 · Jul 6, 2026

App is nothing special. Does what the others do. Seems they can only promote their app by bashing their competition.

Needs cardio added to workouts not optional on your own

★★ · v1.47.8 · Jul 6, 2026

Could use some cardio added like Fitbod

Update made the app unuseable

★ · v1.47.3 · Jun 18, 2026

Crashes, makes me repeatedly sign in which causes me to lose the training session I designed, constantly interrupts asking for access to apple health. It was working great and it has been ruined now. I have asked for a refund on the remainder of my subscription.

Do not

★★ · v1.47.2 · Jun 16, 2026

Paid 80$ for year subscription. After first workout nothing loads on the app.

App has tons of issues

★ · v1.45 · Jun 7, 2026

I already signed up for a year but wish I hadn’t
