RainDrop - Rain Totals & Radar

In the past 72 hours, Hurricane Isaias dumped over 10 inches of rain on my property, according to physical rain gauges. This app reports 1.86 inches. Raindrop has yet to report a correct or even an approximate amount that can be relied on.

I used this app for about a year now. It used to be great as I could tell when and how much it rained when I was not at home. But the last couple of months it has been way off and some days doesn’t even show rain when it has clearly rained. I don’t know what has changed, but the app is no longer useful.

I don’t know where the first location is, but it is not my home or state. I live in TN, but has a KS location saved and the rain info is wrong for my location

For having to purchase an app it should be a lot more accurate. It will show no rain in the forecast even when radar shows a huge storm coming. It will also show a significant amount of rainfall in the forecast and never rain. The rain gauges are never close, any where from a half to a full inch off. Unless they improve the accuracy I would not recommend this app and I will be deleting soon.

We received over 3 1/2 inches of rain overnight (per my actual physical rain gauge) and this app showed less than 2 1/2. Tried to report the inaccuracy through the chat feature but it just wanted my email address. If I’m already chatting, why does it need my email address? I will be deleting this app. If it’s not accurate (not even CLOSE!), then what good is it?

Sadly it is not free app but have to pay monthly fee

For a paid app, I am very disappointed with the results from this app compared to hand-measured gauges. I have 2 other free rainfall apps that are much more accurate. I wish I could get a refund!

“#1 rain app” ok so, I’ll download it, choose a location, look at past rain there and- 40 DOLLARS? WTH IS THIS? And also, WHY DOES MTD NOT WORK? MTD is not showing any rain in most of the US, and 7 days is. Do not recommend unless you are Elon Musk.

I downloaded and went through all the prompts just to find out they charge $49. a year. I like to know what’s up with the weather but not for that much. Weather dot come works just fine for me. And it’s free.

In the last seven days we received almost exactly 3 1/2 inches on my back deck. Measured it with a reliable rain gauge. This app reports 2 inches for the last week. Disappointing accuracy.

I purchased this app specifically for primarily looking at rainfall in Anchorage, Alaska. The app description says anywhere in the US. I paid for a subscription, and right away went to look for a rainfall in Anchorage, and there is no data available. WTF!!!

I thought at first that kind of was on point but now down the line that’s not very accurate no precept for the next seven days and it’s cloudy in about to start raining now so unfortunately it’s not for me

So I subscribed, which may be very short lived. Hours ago I tried to log in and it wouldn’t recognize my PW. SO hit forgot PW and go a message telling me to check my email for direction on how to reset. STILL waiting. I’ll change my review if you actually send me an email with the directions.

Bad forecasting, most of the good tools and history are hidden behind paywall.

Rain totals not very accurate compared to actual gage. YTD by RainDrop-12.87” Actual rain gage-8.11” That’s a 62% difference

I downloaded this app based on a instagram recommendation but there is no free tier. At all. The trial is seven days. Do I want to pay five bucks a month to know if it rained at my location? Maybe for some people it is useful. Not for me.

This was a pretty good app until recently. It has made it so I can’t add a location or change a previous one. I use to be able to have two locations now I only have one. I can’t see the rain amounts for the entire month. I can still get some info but it’s not for the location I want.

Just paid for the app, and A) beneath my city and state location (correct), it says someplace in Canada and it shows a map of somewhere in Canada, also, not my city and U.S. state?! Plus it says we’ve had no rain in the last 24 hours when we did get almost 1-1/4” yesterday. Something is way wrong here. I want my money back.

It's not very accurate

When looking at the temperature forecasts in my area it displays 115 degrees for one day. Apparently, this app doesn't show a forecast, but an all time high for that day. Very misleading.

The app just required an update. Now it requires payment to check one remote location which is why I dropped my 5 star rating to 2 star. Too bad.

Why does this app need to track my purchases? It seemed promising until I saw that.
