Wrote a whole paragraph, tried to send it out, then was hit with “free trial!” Don’t prey on vulnerable people like this.

It is criminal that you charge so much money for something that could save a person’s life.

Do NOT download this app. They’ll let you type a whole paragraph to vent and then tell you, you have to pay for it AFTER you type all that!

I downloaded it a couple months ago so I can just share my emotions, I’ve slowly stopped using it because of how greedy the app as gotten. You use to be able to read the first 3 letters for free, then if you wanted more, you could either watch adds or pay. Now, you can only read one out of the three first ones they give you, and if you wanted to read the other 2, you have to pay or watch adds. Just feels pretty greedy. Another great app ruined by money.

This app stole $32 and it’s all bots and no humans!! I filed a dispute because they locked my phone until I paid their $32 fee to try. Absolute garbage!!!!

you have to pay to use it, i’ll give it credit and admit it’s not super expensive, but why would i want to pay to vent? the only thing that shows me is the creator didn’t make this app in their concern of the people struggling, they made this app cs they know emotionally vulnerable people will use it and so they can get some money out of other peoples hurt, i understand making an app and everything that goes into it costs some amount of money, but to continue to make people pay when you’ve already remade your dept? (assuming there was some) how selfish and ignorant.

The core idea behind Sincerely is genuinely good. There is real value in giving people a place to anonymously write about things they may not feel comfortable saying anywhere else, and to receive responses from other people who understand. That is exactly why the pricing bothers me so much. Charging $7.99 per week for an app centered around vulnerability, loneliness, emotional support, and human connection feels deeply out of touch with the people the app is supposedly trying to serve. That is more than $400 a year for access to something as basic as being heard by another person. I opened the app because I had something personal I wanted to write anonymously. Instead, I immediately ran into a subscription wall. It was a strangely bleak reminder that even something as simple as connection has been turned into a recurring payment. I understand that apps need to make money, and I would have had no issue with a reasonable monthly subscription or optional premium features. But $8 every single week is excessive, especially for an app built around people who may already be struggling and looking for somewhere to feel less alone. The concept deserves better than this business model.

when i saw this app advertised to me i thought it was so interesting and downloaded it. made my account and even wrote my first letter and then im smacked with “give us money if you actually want to use the app” why not just make it cost to buy? this would’ve been really helpful but its just another app lying to get people to spend money

What the heck happened to this app? Everything now is behind paywalls, ads. Can’t even open 3 letters anymore, or refresh to get new letters. I used to love this app, but now it’s so bad

This app used to be to help people but now it’s just a money grab. I used to be able to read at least three letters a day and then watch an ad to get more which I was good with but now you have to watch an ad for every single letter you wanna read?? Makes me not wanna read them anymore. Also no one responds to my letters at all. I put a trigger warning on it and all I get is a robo response from yall. I would like an actual person to read my letter and give me advice. It’s why I downloaded the app in the first place and now it just makes it difficult to even wanna write anything anymore.

This app USED to be so good a year ago, but there’s stuff you used to be able to do for free now locked behind a paywall/ads. Honestly ads in an app like this is already kind of sucky, but I get it. Gotta pay the bills and whatnot. But people log on when they’re feeling incredibly low, maybe even hysterically crying and desperate to get things off their chest, and they have to sit through an ad? I know I’ve been that person. Or people who genuinely want to help others by being a listening ear and offering advice/comfort, and you’re putting being able to do so behind a paywall? I used to be able to easily answer three people a day and now I can’t. I’m really disappointed, and am going to be looking for another outlet for myself. I can’t stand the way things are going. If user experience has declined so much already, what’s it going to look like in another few months?

This app used to be amazing. I used it back when it was new. I stopped using it for awhile and when I come back, I have to pay?!? What the heck Devs??? 7.99 a week? Or 20.99 a year? I honestly can’t believe it. An app meant for mental health of course turns into a money grab. I can only view one letter every 14 HOURS. And, to top that off, there’s ads every time I click any letters. I’m in complete shock. It is so sad to see this world run purely on capitalism. Nothings free anymore. I don’t plan to ever use your app again.. and that breaks my heart. The app was once amazing, not it’s not worth it unless you don’t care about wasting $20.99 a month.

Honestly it’s cool but it crashes so much and the messages barely update.

Love this, wish it was free! I feel like I’m really helping someone and that shouldn’t have a cost or price tag.

A free app on the app store, but once you open it there's a subscription. Find a forum or something to talk to people anonymously, don't pay to talk to people.

This app is extremely misleading when it comes to their “free trial”. I wanted to see what the app was like, and used it for a day, and canceled the same day during the free trial. I was still trying to be charged by Apple afterward and immediately subscribed for a year subscription even though I didn’t approve it. Mind you many other people have made the same complaint. As a result my entire Apple account is on hold for a charge I didn’t not approve. The App is supposed to be marketed as self help but it’s nothing like you think at all. Disappointing.

For once it would be nice if one of these apps weren’t trying to charge a monthly fee to reach out to other human beings and talk. Sad.

App is good but it won’t let me log in anymore

Cool concept in theory, but deleted as soon as the bait-and-switch began telling me I can’t continue with the app without a free trial. We shouldn’t have to pay money for something that is basically the 2020s version of PostSecret or Whisper.

Sincerely always logs me out and deletes my account, then why I try to make a new account it doesn’t let me, fix this issue and I’ll come back to the platform

This app back when it was made was very good. It did help me a lot. Now though it’s really bad, everything is locked behind a paywall, nobody reads your letters or responds, and it’s full of ads and bugs.

I used to be on this app all the time. writing responses to people and trying my best to be anonymously helping others while sometimes venting myself. Everything used to be free. I could read 3-4 notes a day and reply to them then make my own and wait for responses. No I have to wait a day to read a second note?? As well as the fact that an ad right after reading one?? This is incredibly greedy and this app used to be incredible. I hate what it’s become

Someone on this app told me very mean things on this app. This should be taken seriously. I seriously thought there was something wrong with me. I literally spiraled the whole day thinking about the response I got from this user named Trukfit. I suffer with mental health problems. I didn’t think this would be bad. So I’m typing this review because I’m genuinely so upset. I have so many things going on my life and I genuinely thought this app would be a safe space for me 😔

This app used to be five stars but it sucks now. You used to be able to draw, add music, read as many letters as you want, and kinda have an anonymous friend for free. This app is greedy and plays an add right after reading ONE letter. The limit is two now and you have to pay to unlock more. This app used to be fun and FREE!!!
