Weather Kitty: Weather + Radar

It’s very much a app you need to pay for to use it. The visuals aren’t the best.

I’d love to give this 5 stars but I detest bait and switch “free” trials. I got to look at the app ONCE before I was met with a “thanks for your subscription, enter your Apple ID to activate and begin using the app.” I am paraphrasing, but that’s the gist. It appears that if you accept the “free trial” you are then rushed to be charged for the yearly subscription before you can access the app. Now, in fairness, it’s a little ambiguous so MAYBE you don’t get immediately charged. I’m not going to play roulette and then have to go to Apple support to try to get my money back. Too much hassle. Played this subscription game more times than I can count. Been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt. So my advice is, if you are not ready to pay the $20/yr, decline that and they will offer you a yearly subscription for $11.99. Be prepared to pay that depiste offer of Schrödinger’s free trial. Or roll the dice. But when I have to play When and How Much Am I Gonna’ Be Charged, I’ll choose Never. Too bad, because in the few minutes I got to look at it, it was a cute app that I might have really liked.

Cats are snarky by nature and I was hoping this would be more than just sweet platitudes but it’s not so it’s not for me.

Only can make it your home screen if have an over priced undersized Apple Watch so basically I just bought dumbest thing ever and can’t even look at it unless I go into the app. Not impressed you should make that available.

It’s not free, you should disclose the “subscription fee” or is this another Scam? Honesty and being up front goes a long way for your credibility.

But not really every time I try to open it, it shows like thank you for subscribing, now subscribe. And then when I press subscribe or whatever it is it say your Apple account can’t do that. So now when I open it I can’t even see a cat/kitten

Advertises "free" app, collects your info, then demands $$$.

After paying $19.99, you find out that you only get partial features and ads everywhere!

Images and descriptions are AIed. Someone actually told it that cats talk like sailors, so it constantly says stuff like "ar matey" and "batten down the hatches." You also can't use most of its features, so if you want to know about wind, humidity, "feels like" temp etc you have to pay a subscription. Which is a waste of money when you can get all that info for free, you just don't get an AIed cat with pirate talk.

I just don’t like the fact that it’s advertise for free, and then we download it and it’s actually a subscription to unlock key features to keeping you and your family safe during a storm. Such as feature radar that allows you to see where a storm is heading they can give you minutes and hours to get your family to safety. Removing the app.

I can’t even say if I like this app, since they instantly want your money, before you can try the app. No way! Forget that!

This used to be a cute app to get the weather but now it is paywalls and ads galore. They make it impossible to close the ad without clicking on it. After using this app for several years, I finally had to delete it. I get that you need ad revenue but don’t make the app unusable.

Asks for money every time you load the app. No way to disable it.

This app used to give me joy seeing kitties when I checked the weather every morning. Now it’s cluttered with AI caption slip that doesn’t even make sense, and even fake AI cats that look nightmarish. Does not bring me joy and does not incentivize me to spend money on slop content.

Sick to death of warnings about temp “extremes:” just report the flipping facts and stop spreading fear. Bad enough that after all these years and such technology that y’all still can barely forecast properly even 1 hr ahead!

Had the app for years. Today I uninstalled after having to exit out of so many app pop ups just to get to the app mains screen. So sad to see a good app go down the path of ads. You used to be a great app with a.great service. Now laid to the waste of a ad farm.

I really enjoyed this app until lately. Recently the app has been making you look at a short ad before you could access it. Unobtrusive & very short, so I lived with it. Now they’ve just offered the spring theme for free, but when you watch the usual ad in order to get the theme, you can’t get out of it & back to the weather. I tried downloading the app advertised (which I didn’t want), but that didn’t help. I deleted Weather Kitty twice & tried again, same thing happened. Then the third time during the ad watch it froze my phone’s screen to black. I shut off my phone & restarted it, but then, after reloading Weather Kitty once again, reopening (and finally choosing the original theme I had been using) it only gave me 3 cities’ weather to list, whereas before I had been able to list 10. They are making it impossible to use the app unless you get to their pricey subscription version. One more problem & I’m gone. It used to be a great app, but greed has done it in.

The accuracy of this app is fantastic. It could, however, easily be overlooked because the web security ads are too aggressive. It makes the app look really dirty. I don’t trust it. Uninstalling.

Payment: How can this be rectified without me having to cancel?

I’ve had this app for years, but I’m now deleting it due to the new advertising profile. You’re forced to sit through an ad before you can check the weather.

I can’t get past the ads if I choose to watch a video to open a free group of images. No matter how long I wait, there’s no way to close the ads.

Another ridiculous app with a monthly or yearly fee. $99 😂😂😂😂😂

Stole my money! Despite canceling my 1 week free trial, it somehow managed to sign me up for a 1 year subscription at the $20 rate without my knowledge! 😡. I don’t even want this app!

Such a cute app, it’s a shame the creators wanted to be greedy. I downloaded it about 2 years ago and most the features were free. You could add as many cities and see the weather hourly for up to 7 days! But now that I got a new device and downloaded it again, all of these features, you must pay for. I have since deleted it. I’m very disappointed.

Loved this and dog one but now for free you can only view two days ahead. I am deleting it.
