Surfline: Wave & Surf Reports

Rewind cams/sessions feature is so buggy it’s not even worth the frustration of searching through to find your clips. Only feature that makes this app worth it barely works. Unsubscribe and pay a photographer instead.

Surfline used to be the best way to look at the waves and check the forecast, however they have ruined that overtime. For starters, the app randomly signs me out (that’s always happened, to me and my friends), then they started getting greedy. No more live broadcasts unless you pay (the whole point of the app originally) so I use other FREE ALPS now. it’s never really accurate anymore (would say 3-4 and it would be 1-2). I don’t know what happened. I actually use other free apps now and they are usually more accurate too.

They really push people to pay, took away cams access for non-paying members, even with ads. They have progressively become worse and worse, will be switching apps

Updated to no free cams at all and bought and dismantled the superior competition magic sea weed RIP

Used to be great. Now just a money machine.

The only good thing about this service is the cameras. If they claim to provide accurate surf reports and forecasts, then it deserves one star. If it were simply a surf camera service, I wouldn’t have any complaints. The forecasts are consistently inaccurate.

Don’t even waste your time downloading this app, the data is more often wrong then it is correct and now if your a free member they’re trying to charge you $120.00 a year just to access their horrible low quality cams. What a joke of an app.

The Surfline video takes so long to load. Everytime I’m trying to look at rewinds, it just goes black screen and is such a pain to scrub through

I used to like using this app a lot, recently when I try to save my sessions on the watch, the app just crashes and loses my progress. This has happened 4-5 times in a row now. The local cams have also been non functioning for a whole month now. At this point I would like a refund

I’m a subscriber. Stop letting AI write the surf report. It’s not correct. The only thing you guys get right is the wind and the water temp. I just paid for another year and I’m regretting it. The report is poor. If nothing changes by next year I’m out. And I know a lot of others who are in the same boat. Stop using AI to write reports.

Surfline is now 90% of cams need a yearly/ monthly subscription and it’s complete bs. Can’t even watch ads to see a brief clip of your local live cam anymore. Do better

Scrubbing doesn’t work for me on latest iphone and ios. Also did not work on previous ios. Grey playback screen when I try to scrub.

Just ad hell can’t even watch the most recent beach cam clip without watching 2 ads and those are clips not even the live cam

Cannot remember my credentials... every few weeks it logs me out and ask me to log in to see my favorites. so frustrating. tries to upsell me on even basic things like trying to change wind speed from knots to something more intuitive. for shame.

Cancel my subscription because it’s too expensive and now that it’s canceled, I can see just how money grubby Surfline is. You’re not able to see live. You’re not able to see certain cameras and when it does show you cam playback it is showing highlights into ads into highlights into ads. I am never gonna use this anymore. I mean, who would want to deal with that irrelevant of the information you’re getting

Accuracy is lacking. Over hype popular spots. Luckily has decent cams and basically no other options for consumers

As usual, new updates means less functionality and more worthless content. Deleted all of my favorite spots. Did little more than change to metric. Of course, raised the subscription price for the privilege of using this garbage. Please stop making updates that just make your app worse... stick to cams and forecasts

Surfline is wrong about its height it is sometimes 6 feet when I’m out their and it’ll say 3

An ad literally almost every 10 seconds, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Can barely watch any cams

Corporate greed ruined this app. $10 was fine $15 is like Netflix. Too many tiers for premium. Constantly logged out saying I’m sharing an account. Developers can’t seem to understand that people have more than one device. Burnt surfers trying to do tech doesn’t work. Cancelled!

Ad opening cameras, ad switching cameras, ad watching the same camera, ads that won’t even load and are just a black screen causing me to not see the camera. So many ads bruh

The app charges you $127 after trial. When it was supposed to charge $24. There no contact information for support. Do not use this app . It didn’t work the entire time during the free trial then magically started working after changing me which was worth it at $24 for the year but definitely not worth it for $127

You now have to pay to use the useful features, this was free a couple years ago with magic seaweed.

I can’t see the report.

Free version of the app is basically useless now to me. You can’t even see live cams now without the premium subscription which is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. Gotta love capitalism am I right
