Scanner Pro - Scan to PDF

All scans today now have giant black marks even when document is blank!

They updated the app and this version has a lot of glitches and does not work as good as the older version. Very disappointed. Had this app for a very long time and loved it but now I’m not happy with the changes.

This is my go-to app. I got rid of my desktop scanner. The latest version has broken practically everything. Super slow and super buggy on a brand new iPhone 18 Pro Max

I cannot even begin to review because I can’t get past “SUBSCRIPTIONS/ RENTING”… SERVICES REVOCABLE AT THE WILL OF THE PROVIDER. SO DONE WITH SUBSCRIPTIONS.

This application was my go to when scanning my police reports for work now it has become trash and all it does is ask you to sign up for a monthly fee. I guess it’s time to find a new application and I will tell all co workers to start looking for a replacement application!

I went to use the app after upgrading iOS27 and it would not save the file unless I signed up for plus. I tried to cancel the signup but it just deleted the thing I just scanned. Seems the app won’t work without subscription now which is a bummer.

I’ve been using this Scanner Pro app for many years and have found it to be amazing up until the most recent update. The changes made it take longer for me to rename a file after creating it, because I’m not paying for their AI service to automatically name it for me. But the worst part is that it is freezing like crazy and taking forever to actually scan files after I open the app. which has me here writing this review and thinking of needing to find a new scanning app. All of the recent changes seem to have made the app worse, while also adding AI and pushing me towards an unwanted subscription. I’m using it on a brand new iPhone 18 Pro Max with iOS 27 and I have the newest version available of Scanner Pro as of 10/6/26.

It’s been lagging like CRAZY lately.

Had this app for years, used almost daily. The ability to automatically crop and save, then upload is unbelievably fast and clear. Loved this app until recently. Now it PUSHES a paid subscription with 2 options where the price unbelievable. Tried to restore my original purchase from years ago, Scanner Pro cannot find it. As the old saying goes, “Nothing good lasts forever.” I just deleted my Scanner Pro app.

This has been my trusty document scanning app for years. Now it’s updated and bags for a subscription, and completely broken… scanning just presents the document with no buttons or UI to do anything with it. Please go back guys

The app used to be great - I have been a user for 5+ years but it has started to fall off since they rolled out the premium versions. I mainly use it for quick scans when I am away from my computer, but the last several times the app crashes when I try to add a scans. I’ve tried the old IT trick of deleting and reinstalling and still have issues. For something I use occasionally, I am not willing to pay $7.99/week just to be able to do a basic scan.

They have some scammy subscription practices and can start charging your ridiculous amounts weekly if you're not aware. Used to be a good app - now it's a scam!!!

Somehow started charging me 7.99 per week in a subscription. I didn’t catch it for multiple months - something is terribly wrong with how this app is being managed.

I can’t believe that this thing was syncing my stuff on iCloud by default when I didn’t even realize it.. I’ve been using this app for years and years. I decided to try it on my iPad separately from my iPhone. I decided to do two test scans on my ipad for fun. I then deleted the scanner from my iPad since I mainly use it on my iPhone.. when I got a new iPhone and I re-downloaded scanner Pro.. I saw those two same test scans from my iPad from months ago popped up on my new iPhone, freshly downloaded scanner Pro app.. ummm that’s SCARY. i don’t want my scans going to the cloud!! I can’t believe that was on by default.. and there doesn’t seem to be a way you can delete whatever was backed up in the cloud

this has been my go to scanner app for years but now i have to pay to not have a watermark on my scans which makes the app pretty useless to me as a scanner because the watermark is an impediment to legibility on my personal documents and super unprofessional on things that I scan to send to other people. i am not tryna lose aura every time i have to send someone a pdf of something on paper but we on iphone so i will literally just use the scanner built into the files app. in hindsight why was i even considering paying for ts

Beware

Liquid glass update made this app less intuitive and a lot of features that were a tap away are now burried under menues. For example, Instead of browsing recent files, users are now forced to use search instead (if they can remeber file name). Previously all recent files were shown. Also there are banners to enable optional AI features that cannot be dismissed

Scan quality declined, auto captures after detecting one letter of a file, some page scans dont load at all, some page scans load twice, scans crop file in shape of pentagon. I’m not exaggerating. Please update, this app used to be SUPERB

Have had Scanner Pro for years and love it. Scans , lets me collate and store my scans so that I have them to use as necessary. Until I opened it most recently. Now the categories for storage don’t resemble mine so that new scans can’t be placed where I want them. Best of all every time I open the application I’m staring at an ad for the Pro version with an immediate 3 day trial before beginning monthly charges. I must reaffirm my previous purchases before being allowed into my files. Not cool.

This app used to be great. A few updates ago, pages started showing discoloration. Now on iOS27, I have to crop every scan after the fact. Please fix this! This app used to be the best.

I have used this app for at least 8yrs. It used to be the best on the market. I purchased it for $1.99 that’s how long ago it’s been. But now, they keep trying to add more and more and more. There are no new buttons so what used to be 1 touch with the phone is now 3-5 to get to where you want to be. Just naming a doc is a whole process now. When before it was click and type. If I had options to delete 99% of the options they keep trying to add it be great again. It is the best B/W copies. I scan deeds from the 1800’s forward all day every day and have switched over to the hated adobe….. that’s how bad it has gotten. Now, it still has the best scans with an iPhone 17. But for some reason do not translate from phone quality to pdf quality. Half the time I have to go back to my phone to read some docs. Less is more, speed is what we want and need. And we will not be charged weekly, monthly, yearly…. Get you act together

I purchased most apps from the developer for my iPhone, iPad, and Mac, including PDF Expert and Scanner Pro. It used to support family sharing, and now it suddenly stopped without notifying me for no reason. I reached out to the team. They didn't provide an explanation and instead said that I have to enroll in the subscription to benefit from it moving forward. I paid for Scanner Pro with a one-time fee, and the agreement was that family sharing would apply, which it did, but then it suddenly stopped, and that's not right. That's false advertising.
