BetterSleep: Relax and Sleep

The new beta feature to generate an AI voiced meditation might be the most disgusting thing ever. This is supposed to be an app where licensed professionals can help you sleep. But you’re obviously trying to replace them. Also, you deleted my review that I had here before. That shouldn’t be allowed at all. Anyhow, my subscription expires in November and will remain closed.

I signed up for a 1 week free trial. The app said they’d remind me two days before the trial ended. Lo and behold no warning, and today (the 7th day of the free trial) my apple account was billed for the full annual subscription. Not at all happy.

No sleep score, no sound recordings, and costs $70 a year. $10 a month. It’s a waste! Would not recommend! P.S. Why does everything have to cost money? Money hungry people!

Extremely greedy devs! I lost all respect for them they had a few sounds free and they slowly turned them all into pain ones. I will never pay them a dime. Tons of free apps or better get YouTube premium and add rain sounds there

Received no warning when the free trial was ending and was charged $70!! As soon as I noticed the charge, I canceled it and contacted Apple and them. They say it’s not eligible for a refund! I’m a single working mom with 2 little kids, who have been sick lately, just trying to relax and actually sleep at night. This app didn’t help. In fact a lot of the noises were annoying and kept me awake! Then they took my last $70. I’m not even exaggerating, that’s the worst part. Would not recommend.

Started chewing through my battery like crazy.

It feels like the developers took an app people actually liked and slowly stripped away its features just to squeeze more money out of users. Greed has completely ruined what used to be a decent app. Uninstalled.

Just a lady talking with music and sounds. Does nothing for clinical insomnia

used to be a great app until they made almost every feature a paid one when it used to be free. I’ve used this app since it used to be named relax melodies. now you can’t even get a single rain sound without having to upgrade and pay. i find myself coming back to this app as none of the other apps are better but then I redownload it and am reminded nearly every sound is locked. so disappointing

Was great while it was free. I loved falling asleep to it. Like anything in this economy now it’s nickel and diming you. Deleted after using it for maybe 10 years. I’ll use the free white noise built into my phone

If you would have asked me a couple years ago about this app I would say it’s pretty good. But now barely ANY of the sounds are premium! They’ve gotten so greedy that I can’t even get nighttime noises. Terrible.

They make you think it’s a free app but it isn’t. Just be honest and say it’s a paid app. They would get less downloads and that’s the issue.

I’ve had this app since my ever electronic. I’m so disappointed that beyond a free trial; you have to pay for EVERYTHING. I used to use this certain meditation every night and it helped with my insomnia so much, but it’s been part of the premium thing for about three years now. It’s so disappointing because I’ve yet to find something that worked as well as it did. Honestly, just use Spotify, this app isn’t as worth the download as it used to be.

There’s only like 5 sounds that don’t cost money. Used to you could listen to at least half. Can’t even listen to regular white noise without paying.

I’ve been using this app since it was called Relax Melodies. Heck, when I would try to open the app every night, I still type “re…” and this app still pops up. I’m so disappointed this app turned into a money hungry app. It doesn’t take much to sustain apps like this. The charges are way too high for what you get back. Really sucks that I will no longer be using this since they’ve locked me out of my own mixes.

Do not download this app! They are greedy now. I used this app since 2018 when most sounds were free. Now everything is pretty much locked. Please stop giving these apps your money. The greed isn’t going to stop if we keep paying them.

This app used to be mostly free, only about 10% of sounds are free now. I’m reviewing after 10 years of using and deleting as soon as I post.

IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL. gotta jump to so many different places just to try to cancel and still don’t have a confirmation email that has been canceled. The sounds available are in a loop that keeps me awake instead of helping me sleep. Horrible.

ive had this app for years. its helped me through a lot of my inability to sleep but over the years, sounds that were free are now locked. literally 2 sounds i like to use are available and now theres an obnoxious squeaking in the Rain sound every 15 seconds im done

I have used this app for years as our go-to sound machine while traveling with our small children. I was so disappointed to open the app on vacation to see that everything is locked behind a paywall now. Having every single thing in this world have a subscription-based model is not sustainable and I hope these companies soon realize.

$69.99 is too expensive. The app description listed many options, but once you download the app you get a 1 week trial and one choice, $69.99. Deleted.

You can get locked out of your subscription and forced to troubleshoot with a worthless AI chatbot that suggests things that don't add up or make sense. I've had trouble with this app twice now. It's weird and scammy and not right. They don't seem to care that they're taking your money for nothing.

This app used to be good. Now nothing is free except maybe two sounds. Lame. There’s better ones out there, don’t waste your time.
