Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Mediocre app

★★ · v3.1.0 · Oct 13, 2026

Constantly logs me out, now I can’t log back in for some reason. It’s gotten a lot worse since the last update.

Unable to open app

★ · v3.1.0 · Oct 12, 2026

Even after restarting and updating my phone, and fully deleting the app, I have not been able to successfully open the app for days. The pairing with the Pulsetto is not functioning either: it’s not even showing up as connectable by bluetooth. I’ll reach out to the tech support tonight too, but wanted to log these issues here in case they’re related to the recent app update.

They charged me for something I never bought.

★ · v3.1.0 · Oct 12, 2026

They charged $45 out of my account and I don't even have an active membership. This device is already overpriced BS. Now they take additional money when I never even did the free trial. Sketchy.

Unused, unusable app and device

★ · v3.1.0 · Oct 10, 2026

I just opened this brand new gift. Had to download an app, hand over my info to create an account, had to get past an device access, told I need to grant access to their AI to connect to wearable, had to get past an I Agree button that I will try to get better sleep, then made it to a screen forcing me into a monthly subscription without option to skip. Said free tier but not possible. When it tried to force me into a subscription via trial intro I closed the app. I now have a useless item I wouldn’t even gift to someone. I can’t believe this is now the worst product experience I can remember ever having.

Device is great. App is essentially broken

★★ · v3.0.0 · Sep 25, 2026

The Pulsetto device works very well. The only thing that works about the app is the part that controls the device. Luckily that part is free. But after a month of using the premium features, I can tell you that premium is not worth it—if I weren’t on the free trial, I’d be pretty angry about having to pay for an broken app. They tell you premium is required to sync with Wearables and the Health app, but you can skip paying for it because the sync is broken anyway. When it does work, the data it imports doesn’t match up to what you see in your wearable app so the “insights” are meaningless. And now the outbound sync TO Health and my Whoop app just randomly stopped working. Tech support is all nice, sincere people, but they DON’T. EVER. FIX. ANYTHING. And sometimes the directions and advice they give seems aimed at the Android version. They keep giving me the same script over and over again. I deleted and reinstalled the app several times on their advice. I’m not tech-challenged, either. If I even bother contacting support, it’s because I’ve exhausted every possible way to try and fix it on my own. The problem with this app is that they don’t know how to fix it either. Finally one of them admitted to me that all of the premium features are still in beta. That’s right—they expect you to buy a subscription for unfinished, untested software. I am old enough to remember when software companies either paid you to beta test or at least gave you free beta-test copies. Not these guys. They advertise a finished product, and want you to buy it AND test it for them. And given that none of the paid features actually work, even calling it beta is being generous. If all you care about is making the Pulsetto device go, then this app works perfectly, and you won’t need premium. If you want any data or insights, you have to pay. But don’t bother doing that, because it won’t work.

Nice device - terrible app

★ · v3.0.0 · Sep 21, 2026

The font is too small, the screens are too busy It’s a tool to help you sleep but if you wake up and need to reset you have to put glasses on to see and reset.

New update is awful

★ · v3.0.0 · Sep 21, 2026

I don’t need graphics or video of whatever. Why would you get rid of previous settings like intensity? Now I have to change it every time I use it. Decoration at the cost of function is never a good idea.

New update is terrible UX

★ · v3.0.0 · Sep 19, 2026

The new app update makes everything more complicated. Now it takes multiple presses for features that used to be one step away. Like changing the intensity used to just be pressing plus or minus, now you have to open a menu and slide the intensity level over. It is WAY more annoying because you can’t just start at full intensity. Seriously do your app designers even use your own product? Change the app back this new one is terrible.

Meh

★★ · v2.11.2 · Sep 13, 2026

To begin with, I was upset to find out that the device won’t work without using Bluetooth and an App, but I really wanted to see if it will help my anxiety. The app logs me out at least once a week, which is annoying. I wish there was the option to turn off the light all together because it’s quite an interruption if you are trying to use it before falling asleep. Even on the lowest setting, the light is really bright. It seems that the stimulation is the same for all options (stress, calm, sleep, pain all feel the same). I do like the meditation and music features. And I do like that you can add more time since 4 minutes just doesn’t seem like enough for me.

Vaguely disreputable

★ · v2.11.2 · Sep 10, 2026

The amount of positive reviews is for the device NOT the app. I hate the amount of pop ups I have to deal with just to use my device. I HATE buying something and then needing to buy a yearly subscription just to use the dang thing, though. Plus there are two different prices offered in the pop ups which show to me that this company is money grubbing and vaguely disreputable and that annoys me, too. Love the actual device though. Such a shame about how the actual company runs, though. Plus support didn’t actually support me with what I needed and was ai assisted so it gave me a whole bunch of information about slightly related and tangential issues and was more of another thing to manage then was helpful. Think twice before purchasing this particular device, although I LOVE the actual device itself but there might be others that don’t need apps (imagine that??? Probably not though🙄) or include subscriptions with the cost of device🤷🏻‍♀️

Not a good company not a good app

★ · v2.11.2 · Sep 10, 2026

They have a buggy app which if it isn’t working makes your device useless. Recently without warning they forced a firmware update and if you had an older version you can’t update. Since you MUST update to use it you now have a useless piece of plastic you paid them handsomely for. Honestly should be illegal the way this company operates…Could be a great product but it’s ruined by incompetence and greed.

Beware - subscription required for full functionality

★ · v2.11.0 · Aug 31, 2026

Very disappointing. Some pulse patterns for gut, head and recovery are pay-wall-gated. If I’m paying this much for a device I expect all health patterns to be available. Fine to charge for the extra monitoring but restricting the device functionality is very lame. Would not recommend.

Pros and Cons

★ · v2.10.2 · Aug 30, 2026

Stay away from this device. No tech support defective hardware

Too much upselling

★★ · v2.10.2 · Aug 25, 2026

When I open the app, I am bombarded with “Update this and update that”. Can’t even find how to get started because the focus is too much on upgrading!

Login issues

★★ · v2.10.0 · Aug 14, 2026

Constantly logs me out every 3 weeks or so and gives no way back if you try to log in via the wrong method. Please fix. A simple back button would do. This is critical when you freaking pay wall all the features. This device is also dependency forming. We you use it for a while and then don’t use it you feel like 10 times worse then your normal baseline for a couple days so be careful.

Too much of a hassle for me

★ · v2.9.6 · Aug 9, 2026

First off it was difficult to get them unit situated correctly on my neck, then I go in one day and I am signed out and now wants me to create a whole new sign in so what happened to the information I already had. There’s no back button.

Never works

★ · v2.9.3 · Aug 5, 2026

I honestly have no idea why this app has such great ratings. None of the features work consistently and IMHO it’d be great if the appliance just worked without needing an app to run it.

Don’t give them your credit card!

★ · v2.9.2 · Jul 30, 2026

I was disillusioned with the device as it is pretty annoying to have to log into an app to use… especially if you wanted to use it to help in the middle of the night. I have to use both hands to keep it in place, otherwise it feels like I am having a stroke. Regardless of those points, the company has charged me for a monthly subscription that I never signed up for, never agreed to have my credit card information stored, and can’t “unsubscribe” from in the app, because it clearly shows I have no subscription. Customer service is doing nothing to help the situation, just keep trying to sign me up for the subscription.. which I do not want. Very poor experience for something that is supposed to help those of us who are already stressed!

pretty terrible

★ · v2.9.2 · Jul 30, 2026

The app is terrible, the device just makes my neck hurt, and I was charged for premium subscription I didn't sign up for. I would not recommend getting this device.

Good hardware, buggy app.

★★ · v2.9.0 · Jul 28, 2026

Half the time the app says I’m offline despite a perfectly functional connection. My streaks reset for no reason, despite using it daily.

They keep charging my card

★ · v2.9.0 · Jul 27, 2026

I ordered Pulsetto and never signed up for premium. They continue to charge my card every 3 months even though I never signed up for this and notified them many times. Do not give them your credit card!!!!

Expensive device, limited free use

★ · v2.8.2 · Jul 18, 2026

I’ve add the Pulsetto device for about 7 months now. My biggest concern is the continuous removal of free in app features that you now need to pay for. I first lost access to guided breathing during a session. While the Pulsetto effect is yet to be proven, breathing is known to help reduce stress. The latest update removed access to soundtrack during a session. This one makes no sense at all. I also lost access to the personal session and now if I want to use my $300+ Pulsetto device for the stress management program in app (what I originally bought it for) I need to pay extra every month. Customer service was quite inefficient when I first got started in helping address in app bugs. On the efficacy side: no effect on gut related issues. I do not recommend Pulsetto and will look for another device and a company who supports its customer in line with their claimed mission.

Free trial issue

★★ · v2.8.0 · Jul 10, 2026

Would not let me enter my order number for the 14 day free trial. I did skip past that and got the 7 day free trial but the 14 day would have been nice. I put order in exactly as shown and said it was invalid.

Nothing is working or connecting

★ · v2.8.0 · Jul 8, 2026

Unable to connect the app to Bluetooth or location services. I have completed all the troubleshooting of restarting my phone, restarting the app restarting the device, reinstalling the app.

Buggy App

★ · v2.8.0 · Jul 6, 2026

After entering my Pulsetto order number, the app appeared to time out and returned to the screen asking what I want to be called. I again entered my name, clicked on Pulsetto to indicate place of purchase, and reentered my order number. An error message was returned stating that my order number is invalid. The order number was taken directly from the email I was sent by Pulsetto after placing my order. I now have to wait several days just to speak with someone to get this cleared up. Extremely frustrating and not at all user friendly!
