Review-rating drop: 0.64
Peak quarter: 4.86
Last 90 days: 4.22
Store rating: 4.56
Store gap: 0.34
Est. MRR: $124k

Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Average rating by quarter from 500 text reviews

Faint bars have fewer than 8 reviews. Text reviews skew negative versus star-only ratings; read the direction, not the level.

Not great app

★★ · v1.16.1 · Sep 13, 2026

It messed up my contacts. It deleted a lot of contacts, it didn’t merged some of the contacts with the same name. My pictures are out or order even if I try to sort them. I do not recommend this app.

Complete Ripoff

Why it fell

Monetization rage

confidence 82%

Reviews overwhelmingly complain about the app being advertised as free and then paywalling deletion behind expensive weekly subscriptions, hard-to-cancel trials and nagging, plus some poor duplicate detection quality.

Not a build target: users are angry about pricing, not the product, and they are still paying. A competitor would have to win on price.

Data it depends on

Self-contained

No essential third-party data: a competitor only has to build the software. Uses only on-device Photos, Contacts and Calendar frameworks; no third-party data needed.

Fixable complaints

Duplicate contact merge misses same-name and same-number duplicates and deletes contacts incorrectly
Paywall only appears after scan at delete step; disclose pricing upfront
No in-app instructions or link to cancel subscription
Weekly pricing ($6-$9.99/week) and trial-to-paid conversion feel deceptive; offer fair one-time or annual pricing
Intrusive interruptions and nag notifications claiming storage is full
Photo ordering disrupted after cleaning
No preview/confirmation of what will be deleted, so users fear losing wanted items
Scan results deliver little beyond built-in iOS duplicate detection
No customer support channel

The opportunity

What would it take to build a viable competitor, what would it cost to run every month, and a prompt to get started. Generated from the reviews on file; one LLM call per brief. Set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for a real brief; the stub only fills in a template.
