Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Paywall

★★ · v7.9.0 · Oct 13, 2026

Any app that doesnt allow for users to test it without the dangers of a forgotten trial subscription falls into the vaguely nefarious category business strategy. Cool variation on the core idea but all apps that do this get a 2 star

Don’t do this!!

★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 12, 2026

This is not a psychedelic experience at all, and feels incredibly dangerous.

Options

★★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 12, 2026

The meditations are good my only thing that I don’t like there’s not many options and for 13.99 a month I feel like you should have much more

Garbage

★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 11, 2026

Makes you waste 10 mins taking a survey to not even give you a trial unless you sign up for a free week. It collects and uses your data but does not reward the time spent. Poor business ethic.

Everything is locked in paywall

★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 11, 2026

Can't use the glasses without paying , can't play music on your own, it's basically bricked and worthless

Would be nice to know up front about the while subscription thing before I bought it

★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 11, 2026

Would be nice to know up front about the while subscription thing before I bought it

Big promises little return

★ · v7.8.0 · Oct 6, 2026

Very few sessions, even fewer without the annoying fake British accent - no differentiation in the library (the very small library). Maybe in a few years, but woefully short now. Don’t buy!

Constantly disconnects

★ · v7.7.0 · Oct 2, 2026

Constantly disconnects from the mask which ruins the flow.

Terrible

★ · v7.7.0 · Sep 29, 2026

Waste of money. Lumenate connects to App but App will not play. Wasted my money on premium service. A joke. I am contacting AMEX to void the charge.

Helps you sleep but that’s it

★ · v7.7.0 · Sep 28, 2026

It works because your eyes are closed. That’s it. None of the extra claims on the box happened for me. Everyone’s different, but this just felt like an expensive eye mask.

Need to offer more

★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 25, 2026

This company needs to a better job of offering more free Luminate sessions to try. Currently, they only offer two, and that’s it.

App update ruined feature

★★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 22, 2026

The “Drift Off” feature, the only one I used for insomnia, changed recently. The change did not improve the app. Quite the opposite. Maybe developers goal is to annoy you to sleep, as the “improvements” are anything but. Will be canceling subscription.

only has half of what android version has

★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 19, 2026

I literally just opened up my old android and I got this app through Google play and there is one section that has more than 15 choices whereas the Apple version is much more limited. Why is that? Both apps are up to date so you can’t use that as an excuse! Why is there a huge discrepancy and why does Apple get significantly less things than an android user? I am not going to pay again when I’m already paying for this and do it back on my android. But I would consider changing my review if you would give me a free account on my android since I can’t do anything hardly at all on this Apple version.

Scam and waste of money

★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 16, 2026

Title

100% worthless- does not work

★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 14, 2026

You get a guide but not an app. The app does not work at all. You just get instructions for getting everything set up, but you can never actually start the app. You can never play any music. You can never play any lights. Nothing works on this app

Doesn’t work

★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 13, 2026

I went through all the steps and get stuck at the part about how to position. Nothing to press after that. Trash ad led me here.

These reviews have to be bought

★★ · v7.6.0 · Sep 12, 2026

Cool idea, but this all seems like something I could’ve thrown together myself with Claude. I own the nova, and the lowest setting isn’t low enough. It’s certainly not good for sleep. If you’ve actually done psychedelics, then these ‘visuals’ will not be what you’re expecting/hoping for. The music has zero thoughtfulness put into it. It’s your standard padded chords with some synth wave leads layered on top and then looped forever at low fidelity. The voiceovers for guided meditation are AI (ew) and are brief. And also poor audio quality. Listen, again, cool idea, but how dare you sell a $150 device and then force your users to pay for a $70/yr subscription (or whatever the price is now) just to access more than 4 pieces of content. I pay for the subscription and compared to Calm, Mesmerise, Endel, I’m pretty disappointed in the quality of content and massive overpromise Lumenate has made. This is just fancy marketing with a vibe coded product. Unfortunately I think we can expect to see a lot more of this caliber of stuff in the world coming soon. And then they’ll all buy reviews like Lumenate has done which will trick the general population into thinking it’s good. C’est la vie.

Wants you to subscribe before the free trial

★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 7, 2026

This app hopes you forget you subscribe to its freee trial. It it’s that good why not let the people try it with out committing to a subscription. Don’t waste your time here

Shouldn’t have to pay

★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 7, 2026

I think this is a cool concept but you can’t even try it unless you have an account and sign up for their free trial.

Money hungry app

★★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 5, 2026

I was going to try out the app to see what it does cause I heard about it on Instagram and the Instagram post said it shows visuals or whatever that’s supposed to make you relax. When I was about to experience whatever it was going to do, it asked me to pay which was not what I was expecting. That was disappointing. If it’s possible, make a free version of this app.

You

★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 5, 2026

Make it free bro

Not worth it

★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 4, 2026

I can listen to 432ghz on YouTube for free the fact that they charge you 13.99 a month just to do anything is wild they just atleast have free stuff and then have a paid for section

Pay for nova and still need subscription? BS

★ · v7.4.0 · Sep 1, 2026

Real cheap that when you and buy the nova device, you still have to pay for a subscription to access your favorite sessions. Should get more freedoms for supporting the company by buying the damn device. Guess I’m the sucker

Bs

★ · v7.4.0 · Aug 30, 2026

It’s so annoying that the app is free but to actually use it you have to pay, like if you have to pay to use the app then just make it so that you pay for the app instead of leading people on by making the app free then making them pay to use the experience.

Would like to like

★ · v7.4.0 · Aug 28, 2026

I was really hopeful with this app. I figured there would be fees, but I figured I’d give it a shot and see what it is before committing. After soooo many questions the only way to proceed is to sign up for the “free trial”. No. Make a short demo or something for us.

The opportunity
