Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

No Science of Reading aligned

★ · v5.12.45 · Oct 7, 2026

I pretty disappointed in this app. As a reading specialist I wanted something I could practice with my daughter to help her learn the sounds. Once we got to long o, that made r controlled vowels long o sounds, which are two very different sounds. The high frequency words can be decoded if aligned correctly in the app. This has so much potential but fell short on helping my child with reading. With better alignment to science of reading scope and sequence this app could be extremely beneficial

Lesson code limits my son’s independence

★ · v5.12.45 · Oct 4, 2026

The “Grownup required” code prevents my son from opening lessons independently. Each time it appears, he needs me to enter the code before he can continue. I have checked the available settings and have not found a way to turn it off. This makes him dependent on me just to access the lessons and limits how useful this app is for our family. Parents should have the option to disable the lesson code while keeping purchases and account settings protected. I have contacted support and am waiting for a response. If this restriction cannot be removed, we have paid for an app that does not meet my son’s needs.

Very disappointed

★ · v5.12.45 · Sep 24, 2026

Subscribed. The app charged me but doesn’t work. It’s telling me I still need to subscribe and my account isn’t linked. There’s a message to contact support but support doesn’t get back to you. Now there’s no network connection to reach out again!! Too many technical issues.

Horrible

★ · v5.12.31 · Sep 17, 2026

Claiming to help kids but doesn’t read anything just shows text and I have to read it to my child to understand it not worth the money. Doesn’t help iep kids.

Scam

★ · v5.12.04 · Sep 15, 2026

Tried the trial for 7 or 14 days but was given the 1 yr subscription option. Before trial ends, tried to cancel but still charged with a yr of subscription which is $81. Apple told us that free trial was only 1 day and not 7 or 14 days. Now we have to pay it because it won't let us download any other app. Don't fall for this. My son is not even interested of using the app. It's a big scam. We got scammed!

Same lessons

★ · v5.12.04 · Sep 11, 2026

I thought this would be a better program but it seems like they have the same lessons for children of all ages and is not very appropriate for my 2 children who are two different ages. Not twins.

Not impressed

★★ · v5.12.04 · Sep 10, 2026

My child didn’t learn a thing from this app. What took my husband and I two days to teach by paper and sitting down with her this couldn’t do. They don’t teach the alphabet in order which is the first thing that needs to be fixed, it moves too quickly from one letter to the next. Paid too much for this.

Trial

★ · v5.12.04 · Sep 8, 2026

Requires you to sign up for the FREE trial WITH payment and puts you for a YEAR automatically. You can set a reminder for so many days before your trial ends, but it definitely DOES NOT send you the reminder. CONVENIENT RIGHT?! I’m out $81 since they DID NOT send me a reminder and my kid wants NOTHING to do with this app. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Only allows one lesson per day

★★ · v5.12.04 · Sep 8, 2026

I was disappointed with the program because it only allowed my child to complete one lesson per day. She completed the assessment prior to starting, but Lesson 22 was very basic and primarily reviewed words and sounds she already knew. She completed it quickly and was ready to move on to the next lesson. Unfortunately, the program only allowed her to “review” the following lesson rather than actually complete it. This left her bored and frustrated because she wanted to continue learning at her own pace. I ultimately cancelled the subscription after the free trial. I think the program could be much more effective if children who demonstrate mastery could progress through lessons without a one-lesson-per-day restriction.

Junk

★ · v5.11.84 · Sep 1, 2026

Subscription required for any interaction. The slider bars don’t do the sound they are just there for the child to make the sound. Looks cool in advertising but not accurate to the video.

Boring

★ · v5.11.72 · Aug 29, 2026

A one year-old can say it by their self

To repetitive

★ · v5.11.72 · Aug 29, 2026

The activities are very repetitive and my daughter was very bored doing it. It’s always the same with different letters.

A two stars

★★ · v5.11.47 · Aug 12, 2026

Because you have to pay to do it, but when we had to do the M first, she was doing so good, but we can’t pay for it Please make it free

Terrible

★ · v5.11.47 · Aug 10, 2026

Lessons are so slow. The sliders don’t make any noise to help the child. Needs parent to input codes every 2 seconds. Wants you to listen to their useless 5 minute alphabet song every lesson

Slow

★ · v5.10.91 · Jul 23, 2026

It’s slow so kids get bored

Scam

★ · v5.10.91 · Jul 23, 2026

I signed up for a free trial to see how this app would work for my daughter. I canceled my free trial BEFORE I was supposed to be charged and I was still charged $13. This app is not worth that. And they will not refund me my money.

Waste of money

★ · v5.10.91 · Jul 21, 2026

The app requires for the parent to do this the kid 100% of the time.

Maybe ok for neurotypical kids…

★ · v5.10.64 · Jul 7, 2026

This is not the app for a kid with severe ADHD. The lessons were good, but the games being never ending is awful. We used it three times at less than 20 minutes per time before my daughter’s behavior afterwards was unbearable. The games are built to be addictive and it will have a negative effect on kids that already struggle with boundaries.

Disappointed

★ · v5.10.49 · Jun 30, 2026

When I come to any service for assistance, I’m expecting to see measurable results. This app did not provide that. I don’t believe my child skill level was considered at all in time was truly wasted on each lesson. I don’t feel my child walked away having learned anything, they didn’t already come knowing. If you’re looking for something challenging, especially for children that may struggle with ADHD this isn’t it

Good, but freezes too much. We restart this thing 3 times each session.

Company is non-responsive

★ · v5.8.42 · Apr 1, 2026

I signed up because it advertised there would be no charge if I cancelled within the first 30 days and I wanted to give it a shot with my 4 year old. She had no interest in the game. It has a lengthy alphabet song that it tries to make you play at every level that she (and I) didn’t like, the activities were extremely basic—they aren’t even games, so it’s not interesting to kids. You’re supposed to move a slider with your finger while saying a letter’s sound out loud. That’s not a game. I completed the information of where my child was at with reading and it didn’t make sense where we were in placement—it was trying to introduce her to each letter and the sound it makes, and we are beyond that, so it’s even more boring for her. I emailed the company twice requesting a refund since we only tried the game for 1 day and I got an automated message saying they’re swamped with emails essentially—probably other parents trying to cancel. Now I have to call my credit card company to request they get involved for a refund. Waste of time.

Does not offer independence

★ · v5.8.17 · Mar 26, 2026

The typed sentences should be narrated not a fan throughout the lesson he kept saying I can’t read this and there is no audio

Lovely app ruined by atrocious support

★ · v5.7.68 · Mar 21, 2026

Got this application and pretty soon the five year old was totally addicted. Unfortunately at one point, a glitch occurred and said that we didn’t have an internet connection. Shutting down and restarting did nothing and inquiries to support went unanswered. For over a week I had a five year old asking me every day why he couldn’t use the app. If you are going to build something, charge for it and target kids and parents - have the common sense to actually support it.

The opportunity
