A Better Routeplanner (ABRP)

Many of the features that it espouses to offer do not work very well. Such as; if you choose a preferred network it is all that it shows so more like exclusive network; on my most recent trip the map kept directing me to take an exit just to then get right back on the highway; routes are not customizable. I have a series of chargers I am familiar with on my route, but rarely can I enter those without the app totally rerouting me. I am cancelling my subscription, it’s more hassle to figure out than it worth. Google Maps will do just fine.

Still does things like take you 5 miles off the highway for a 40 kW charger, passing by a 200 kW supercharger on the freeway.

Speed limit has been stuck on 70mph for months. Several tickets placed with no fixes.

I paid for the app before doing a 600 trip n Subaru Trailseeker. The car was listed n the app as available, and it thought that I’m all set. Nope, there is no OBD integration, having car listed doesn’t mean anything. GPS navigation was off by a street multiple times. App was erasing manual battery settings and replacing it with fully charged battery after each stop, then telling me that I don’t need to charge. It panning is ok, but using it for driving felt I had half baked product from 2005.

I don’t want to blindly follow a route. I want to see which charger stops it picked. There is no way to see a route overview- distance/stop /charger speed etc. it also picks bad,slow, or poorly reviewed chargers.

I’ve taken half a trip with this app and so far it’s taken me off the freeway twice for no reason costing me 20 minutes of detour. Both times it just put me right back on the freeway but no traffic etc to justify it. Second time the on-ramp was closed so I had to backtrack 5 miles. It can’t get my charge or range right so almost left me stranded if I hadn’t manually intervened. It’s almost 10% off on the readings. It’s insane.

I opened the app today and I was logged out. I tried logging in but my email or password are not recognized. I tried resetting my password but I never received an email. What happened?

After selecting my vehicle, it goes back to main screen without vehicle added

Can’t plan a route without a vehicle, and app fails to add vehicles. Completely worthless. Used anyway and it routed me to a level 2 charger it mislabeled as level 3. Negative a million stars.

Completely useless. The app freezes when I try to select a vehicle.

My neighbor said this was a good app but it’s constantly freezing

I’ve only been using this app to see where the chargers are and then I use Google Maps to get to it. But this time I used it to find *and* navigate to chargers in the Salthill area, and….we’re 0/3. No EV chargers at the last two places where the app said they were, and then for the third one, the app tried to navigate me up a closed footpath. A waste of time. Maybe work on the basics before getting battery efficiency precision right? I can see the numbers on my own dash just fine.

If I try to change anything, the display constantly flickers and is unusable. No integration with Contacts Trying to enter a destination is not intuitive.

Use PlugShare instead! ABRP has really gone down the toilet the past few years. Can’t use ABRP w Android Auto or Apple CarPlay unless you have a premium subscription (Good luck figuring THAT out; the interface is so obtuse that you can’t GIVE them your money). PlugShare works beautifully with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for FREE. ABRP keeps inexplicably disconnecting navigation while you’re driving without even notifying you (surefire way to get yourself stranded w a dead battery). PlugShare never disconnects. ABRP’s interface is a nonsensical mess; whereas, PlugShare’s is pleasantly intuitive. Enough said.

Tried to used multiple times and the app is flipping out. Entered an address and the app won't resolve. Open a saved route and the app freezes in a flicker. Saw some good reviews but seems to have some issues.

The idea of the app is great, but it doesn’t actually allow you to plane a route. I’m sure it’s just an app issue at the moment. But if this is how it works the first time installing.. then Thanks but No thanks.

Current location and battery level are correct… So I input a destination address, hit enter and nothing happened.

Whenever clicking on any charge station on map or on route, the app screen flickers rapidly and relentlessly. The web version certainly doesn’t do this. Also the app will not accept any address (city, state or full street address) for route planning. Literally nothing happens when you enter an address.

We were stuck plugging into level two chargers down US Highway 50 through Nevada, because the app routed us to unreliable chargers.

Basic premise of a route planning app should be the ability to search for a destination. Unfortunately for this one, with all filters cleared it is unable to show any destinations. Awful

Can't log in with existing password, can't reset it because reset e-mail never arrives, support plays dead. Complete junk. Want my $5 back.

Searching for locations does not work and you cannot plan routes without creating an account.

Last couple of updates has broken many features. 7.1.5 is now totally broken. I can’t type in to destination fields. App doesn’t seem to be working with GPS. Screen just rapidly flashes. I have used this since 2021 but am unable to get it to work now.

Yes, it does route plan, route to chargers, etc, pretty well. But GPS guidance is still pathetic. As others have pointed out it falls behind, loses track of where it is, I’ve even had the map completely disappear in CarPlay. Hard to believe it’s still as bad as ever as an actual driving aid. Shame.

Recent updates have made the app more buggy. GPS lags and sputters. Display color scheme decided to do its own thing. Nav voice unmuted itself.
