Savvy Navvy: Boat Navigation

Loved this app for a year. Then it crashed during a crossing from the gulf of Maine. Cannot log back in and customer support does not exist. It took them 3 days to get back and can’t fix the issue. I was using a new iPad Pro with the m5. Frustrating to spend so much money on an app that fails at the most needed time. Thankfully I downloaded Aquamaps as a back up and that’s worked flawlessly. Very frustrated.

$123 a year is stupid. If you want to charge that much you need to get on salt strings level of detail and value. Yes they have a free version but like the other reviews said the app is useless unless they have your card info. There are no contour lines at all for free and you can’t even get a satellite view for free might as well just use Google Maps. And there are no pricing details posted anywhere in the App Store so you don’t know what you are paying until you download and are forced to make a decision before even getting to look at what you are spending money on. Complete garbage

Purchased via iPhone. Worked. Spent over 5 hours attempting to add onto iPad mini (both ios 26.6.1). Seems to force UK version. Not an issue with linking to macbook air. Last contact with company "seems like a glitch". Perhaps they will get back to me& I will update. But paying $129 for one year & not being able to use these essential features on the device at the helm is a bit infuriating.

The navigation makes no sense since I can’t see my plot destination in real time I have to keep stopping and moving the screen to see where I’m at

Signed up for the 3 day free trail. Only lets you create routes from your current location and never sends email or other confirmation of trial or when you cancel. Contacting their support is beyond sketchy as they ask for your email and other contact info to sell.

This is a big disappointment for me. I don’t know why they don’t tell you this before you download the app, but the app is worthless without giving your credit card first. To be able to use the app at all you have to give your credit card first and it gives you a three day free trial before it charges your credit card. Deleted app immediately. App should be transparent, and I would tell people before they download the app exactly what to expect. I would let you try it for a week at minimum so that if you download the app during the early work week, you can at least make it to the weekend to get out on the water at least and try this app out.

The app lacks information, is not intuitive, and is overall lacking for a boating navigation tool. I subscribed to the premium subscription and regret paying for it. I have contacted support twice and they are not helpful. I recently asked about depth measurements for Moosehead Lake in Maine and was curtly informed they don’t have depth measurements for the lake. It’s the largest lake in the Northeast.

Says it has ais but no targets show up. Atleast on the free version but I know for a fact vessels were within the two mile free version and nothing showed up. Even the vessel I’m on wouldn’t show up. Don’t advertise AIS if it don’t work.

Have been a while with several problems in getting into my logbook, routes, points,while the device isn’t connect to internet. This is a huge safety issue; since the app promise you this in the offline mode, and used to in the past;but not enymore

Won’t take my money

Been using the app for a while. I get bugs and anomalies, but lately can’t justify the cost. Already paid for the year premium service, but won’t be renewing. Very bugging anymore. Sometimes it works and sometimes says can’t create the most simplistic of routes.

App is buggy and not intuitive when trying to plot on the chart. Smart route planning doesn’t work and won’t inform the user of the error that needs to be corrected to find a route.

No monthly subscription option?

I’m curious to know why if I have SavyNavy plane a particular from point A to B, the actual route, once the route is in place, it actually outside of navigational buoys. The route that I was looking at would be from Chrisfield MD, to Annapolis, MD to port Annapolis marina. I’ll see if I can attacha screen shot to this message. Thanks.

I am sailing the east coast and broke my phone. The app is still charging me but not let me sign in on my new device.

They falsely claim the app provides tidal/current data, but they DO NOT! I applied for a refund 3 days after purchasing this app based on false claims and they denied it. Avoid this scammy app developer at all costs and just use DeepZoom.

Great concept. Needs a lot of GPS work for the price of $120+ a year! Wish I could post a picture of how I ended up on roads, yards and forests. Weather features seem nice wasn’t t able to figure out how to change to *F from *C and it would be very convenient if it would add in the Dew point. I use it to know if I need to cover up the boat or if I can let it air out at night

You are missing a popular lake near me! It’s the reason i wanted the app!

1. Overpriced and lacking for my use. If you live on the ICW, this is great for you. If you explore backcountry creeks and rivers that connect with navigable waterways, app WILL NOT CALCULATE/PLOT a course. 2. No post trip detailed analytical information, only the basic total distance and maybe top speed. This app will not show you vessel speed gradient changes, forget about tidal conditions and weather information to go over your post trip. 3. Sharing your trip means non subscribers have to download/install/try for free or subscribe to see your trip. Where is my commission? You think I am going to become a salesperson to my family and friends….NO.

Non existent support. Chat and email are unresponsive.

I was hoping this would allow me to plot courses in my SWFL area, but I am finding that the maps are wholly inaccurate adding in places to navigate through that don’t exist and ignoring the actual thruways. If it was accurate I might consider this app but no way I would pay $99 for it.

Had high hopes, started out ok. Really best at tracking you while out. Not good at plotting routes, takes forever, if it does. Also not intuitive. “Tap to set starting point” ok. “Navigate to” why would I want to navigate to my starting point. Ok, maybe just bad language, tap navigate to “Select your starting point” why would I select another starting point?

Whenever this chart actually comes up, I hope it will be out of this world. I mean there are so many ways to go from Fort Lauderdale to Islamorada that I’m sure your servers are burning up. Useless.

We’re on Chinquapin Canal in Maurepas, Louisiana and this app doesn’t show any of the bayou’s around here; but only the major rivers.

Extremely disappointed the app continues to lock continues to tell me my subscription is going to expire, but will not allow me to utilize it. Despite the fact that I still have a paid subscription. If you guys are looking for me to renew, I guarantee you this is way for me to look for another app.
