#50 top-grossing, Finance
Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Syncing cards often does not work or takes a long time.
This is a bait & switch. The app sucks! They will charge you for a 1 year membership with no access to any customer service to dispute it. I disputed with apple 1 minute after they charged me for a 1 year subscription and Apple just rubber stamps it “not eligible for refund” . I wouldn’t ;t trust a company like this to have access to my credit card information. DO NOT BUY!!!!
I canceled the annual subscription the day I was charged because I needed transaction tracking. I asked the developer for a refund, but received no response to that request. I had to request the refund through Apple instead. Disappointing support experience.
Dont use it. They no support for issue.
It added all offers to my card but did not allow for offer search in free version.
If you want to track your Amex card perks only…this is for you.
I paid for the app and linked my credit card, I expected the whole idea of the app is to tell me up to date what offers have been redeemed and which one is not with future deadlines. Otherwise what’s the point of the app if I have to check it manually?? I think it’s a scam.
Sought a subscription cancellation and refund when I realized the app doesn’t actually serve my needs. Only got a response when I left a public review here, which said to send an email, which I did, a DOZEN times, even copied the developer. No response to any email or any avenue of contact.
Missing the most basic reason you have a travel card - a companion ticket. After your first year, one of your largest savings will be a travel companion ticket but it’s not tracked! Why this is not simply listed is a huge miss. I get it. It’s a variable cost, but list it with the likely date and average cost and let the user update it. Without this you’re not properly tracking your costs for the card. Sure you can manually enter it through a lot of hoops, but why?
Really a waste of money here. It doesn’t track all of the cards offers, so I still have to open the card apps to see them. Disappy
Paid subscriber. App is constantly crashing, making it useless
I’m on the paid CardPointers+ tier and still run into the gaps this app is known for. Search is unreliable and typing a card name doesn’t consistently pull up matches, so locating a card you’ve already added takes more taps than it should. The card database also has holes; several cards from major issuers are missing entirely, meaning manual entry or going without. The auto-add offer feature, the main reason to pay for this tier, is inconsistent. Pages lag and offers frequently fail to activate on the first attempt, requiring multiple refreshes to get through a full list. For a paid feature, that’s not acceptable. Paying for a tool that still requires babysitting to do its one job isn’t a good value. For a high priced paid product built around simplifying credit card decisions, it adds more friction than it removes.
Like others in the one start camp, I’ve heard absolutely nothing from my two emails. NOW FREAKING RESPOND TO YOUR EMAIL COMPLAINTS!
This app is amazing…when it works, which is maybe 5% of the time. The extension pops up on every darn website when I don’t need it and is nowhere to be found when I do need it. It is the most glitchy app I have ever used and absolutely does not function as intended. I have had it over half a year and have tried many times to get it to work. It has work twice and the second of those times it only worked about half the time I was trying to add offers to my Amex account. The button would show up to add, and I would select my offers, but then nothing would happen when I clicked the check mark. I reloaded the site about 20 times and it finally worked for one offer and I thanked my lucky stars and then it stopped working again. Most frustrating app ever. I would love my money back.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with CardPointers has been extremely disappointing. First, I accidentally purchased the Premium subscription and contacted support within minutes, but they would not allow me to undo or reverse the purchase. That left a bad impression from the start, especially considering how little time had passed. More importantly, the app simply does not provide the level of insight I expected. I was hoping for meaningful information about current credit card promotions, offers, and strategies to maximize rewards. Instead, most of the information is generic and already available from my credit card issuers. There is very little guidance on the best ways to redeem points or optimize rewards after they’ve been earned. I’ve also found that the app’s recommendations for which card to use are not always the best option. In many cases, I get more value from Credit Karma’s Card Optimizer feature than I do from CardPointers. The technical issues make matters worse. Location tracking is inconsistent, the app frequently freezes, I’ve been randomly logged out multiple times, and it often fails to identify nearby locations correctly. For a service that costs around $70, I expected significantly more functionality, reliability, and customer support. Instead, I ended up with an app that underdelivered on its promises and was frustrating to use. If I could rate it lower than one star, I would. Complete waste of money.
Bought this app based on the recommendation by ‘all the hacks ‘. It has a poor interface—no valuable information. Ex: if I search ‘tractor supply’, it should display no special offers or show cards with offers. Instead, it shows my cards and says "starts 1x reward"-what’s the value of this information? Also, I don’t understand why they only give the offers for the card you upload. Why not just display all the available offers for all the cards in the world? Not sure why anyone would recommend this app. Please don’t buy.
Can’t add a card because the app stalls out with a spinning gear. Deleted cards come back. When trying to add a card, if you leave the app to look up the convoluted name a card, the app loses programs and wipes what you’ve entered.
While on my journey to learn more about cards and points and fixing my credit I stumbled across this app. I tend to be very cautious and smart about free trials because I know what the catch is, i.e. a lot of people forget they subscribed and the company profits off of your human error. I’ve emailed three times, because I genuinely cannot afford $90 at the moment, and have had zero response. I now I can’t use the App Store at all which I was using to try and make some extra income while I get through this tough patch. What makes this even more frustrating and pathetic and sad is that I legit have no use for this app, since I don’t get approved for cards to begin with. What started off as hopeful curiosity about the possibility of one day being able to use card points and fix my credit, turned into me ending up in a far worse situation. If you’re in any kind of similar situation as mine. Avoid at all cost. On the day that I finally reach my credit score and card goals, this will never be the app I do business with.
Offers not adding completely to Amex especially
Too annoying, lag time, prefilled cards have lots of incorrect details, just annoying to use with lots of wasted time.
It is painful how much is behind paywalls on this app. Wanna just reorganize a section (no disabled buttons or anything hinting it's paid) that will cause a prompt for $100. I can't navigate the app for 15 seconds without being asked for $100 again. This app feels like way more work than fun. I'm happy others get use out of it. It is so grossly offensive how expensive the app is tho.
Constantly spams you and does not respect your notification preferences set within the app. I have notifications completely turned within the app and still get annoying notifications. Violates the specifications from Apple.
It’s core feature, telling you what card to use at any particular time (“best card wizard”) is locked behind a $90 (per year) paywall. I have a hard time seeing the return on investment here. Say I make 35, $200 purchases throughout the year. (~7000 in spend) I would have to use the sub optimal card about half the time in order get my $90 back in point value, assuming a average 2.5 point increase by being directed to use the correct card by the app. For most big purchases you probably know what card to use anyway, it’s the random small stuff that this app helps with and I just don’t see the ROI for that. While I understand software development isn’t free this app should not cost more than AAA video game title. $20 a year seems like a more reasonable
A lot of bugs and phantom cards. Doesn’t always show the right offers or benefits for restaurants, utilities, etc.
Apparently the paid features are where you will find the “most” value. So as long at you are willing to pay, upwards of $90/month, you will get the most use of this app. Otherwise, it’s useless.
What would it take to build a viable competitor, what would it cost to run every month, and a prompt to get started. Generated from the reviews on file; one LLM call per brief. Set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for a real brief; the stub only fills in a template.
