A recent update in 2026 suddenly made this app almost unusable without making an account or logging in by other methods, and without being connected to the internet (why?). I was somehow able to get a simple print done after a few restarts and dodging some screens. That was not the agreement made when the company sold me the hardware, which is good but locked to this app, a few years ago. Prospective buyers of this printer beware.

This used to be a free app. It now requires a subscription to print anything. I will be throwing away the printer and purchasing one that doesn’t require a subscription.

It’s been an hour of trying to get to print. I’m done. Very difficult to understand even though I followed the directions.

I bought the printer and got the app with it, it worked fine for a little bit but you have to pay for the subscription monthly or yearly i paid for the yearly plan it was $36.99, and im still not able to use the features that it has for the yearly subscription i’ve tried contacting them, but nobody answers through the live chat in the app and I tried emailing and finding a customer service number and nothing it’s very frustrating for me and my business I definitely wouldn’t recommend!!

This app used to have a feature allowing you to preview the tattoo right on your client, now the “upgrade” won’t allow it forces you to use generic photos for placement which is useless I will have to cancel my subscription and warn any person not to buy this printer or use this app.. QUIT messing up the app just so your code guys have a job different is not better..more than disappointed with this

At this point, you can print absolutely NOTHING without a paid subscription (even stuff labeled as free). Nowhere in the description of this printer that I purchased does it list a disclaimer that you need a subscription to use it. This is a bait and switch tactic and I will be reporting this company to the BBB. Don’t buy anything from this company, even if it’s just based on principle.

The app was fine but now when ever I try to print it tries to force me to pay and I am unable to print.

once you already buy a printer you would expect to be able to print things right? well not for this one. you can’t print anything unless you pay for a subscription. this is so ridiculous. the username is so complicated that i used the example one as mine. this is a terrible app and the printer is an absolute joke.

I purchased this contraption 2024. I rarely use it but when I do, it is horrible! It takes me 45mins to an hour to get it to connect to my iPhone. 1-2page documents parse forever and then I get a msg that the file is too large. I wanted $90 on this thing that eats up my time.

Without the usual gazillion dollar subscription, it’s a paper weight… junk.

I’ve been using my Phomemo stencil printer for well over a year now and haven’t had any issues until the past couple weeks. There’s been a paywall added for certain features (that I don’t use and don’t intend to) and every time I press print the paywall comes up with no way to close it out to continue to printing. I’m not paying $36.99 a year for added features I don’t want with a printer I’ve already paid for. Ridiculous. Please fix this and I will gladly change my review! It was great until this happened 🙃

I’ve been using this free app for a couple of years and suddenly it wants me to pay for a subscription to use my printer.

I used to love this app and printer but today I powered it up and they have made the app require a subscription to get all the graphics/font options. I understand that they need to make money. What I hate is that there is no way to filter for just the free options. So I have to scroll through a ton of fonts to find the few options that are free! Same with every other option and category of graphics. I bought this printer 4 years ago when it included a totally free app. It feels very unfair that now years down the line they get to pull a bait and switch like this.

I wanted to use the printer to be able to print from my Mac. The app does not support a laptop. I tried to use it to print a document on my phone and was not able to access my files. The only way to be able to print a document on the app is to drop it into the app, which you cannot do from an iPhone or a Tablet. I wasted my money on buying this printer that has absolutely no functionality.

Purchased and worked okay until AI integration. Now I can’t print anything without a subscription. Fix this

Everyone they update it gets worse. Now it makes you register but doesn’t work regardless of which option you choose. My printer is useless the last couple of days because of this.

Sorry I bought it. Am going to return it and buy a different brand. Apparently the app doesn’t support this model, which was just purchased brand new.

Almost 2 years in to owning their device and suddenly have to pay $40 for a subscription to have it actually print anything

I already paid for this service. I bought the printer and the paper. I used to be able to print—no problem—but now the app won’t let me print anything unless I buy a paid subscription. They made it confusing and impossible to pass the subscription page so now my printer is rendered useless. Another business that doesn’t put its loyal customers before shameless excess profit. And I would’ve been willing to buy more paper and perhaps upgrade the printer in the future. Corruption everywhere.

I just wanted to print my stencil but I had no other option but to sign up for pro free trial extremely frustrating user experience

The printer works great but latest update introduced a forced subscription that prevents printing without. I am not sure but that seems an illegal practice, I don’t want more functionality except being able to print. Apple should prevent this kind of practices, so to use the printer that I bought 3 years ago, I have to subscribe and cancel the subscription, sending more information to a company that I no longer trust. A warning to anyone buying stuff from this company.

This app will not work with my Phomemo D30 label maker. The Print Master app blocks me from using any of the features without an expensive, paid subscription. I bought a print I cannot use.

Bought printer… now I need a substitute it? Total scam

im sorry but why are you forcing us to pay for a membership to use the app when we already have the machine and we buy our own stencil paper and make our own designs. this is ridiculous. you can’t just start charging us to use the app out of nowhere.
