I have four cameras around our house. Work great. Take down about two/three times a year to charge. Motion sensors, night vision, recordings on the app. Can keep or delete. Can watch live cameras while away. Usually app works great. Occasionally, might get glitchy after update. But they seem to be up to date with fixing things. 9/2026 all of a sudden you gotta pay to watch video on app? What kind of BS is this? Looking for new cameras! Shame on you CloudEdge/iegeek!!!

App usually works fine but I have a battery on 18% and am getting a notification every one or two minutes about it all day saying it needs charged. Needs fixed immediately… doesn’t normally do this so I’m not sure what is going on

Like the other most recent reviews have stated, this app now requires a subscription to see your previous recordings even though they use an SD card. I’ve been using this camera for two years now and did not have problems. My main use for the camera/app was to view my alerts and video recording at any time. Now, with the most recent update, I’m forced to buy a subscription to view my recordings even with an SD card. I recommend shopping around for another camera that does not offer any cloud service even if it’s as a trial option. Eventually, they can and will force you to subscribe. DO NOT BUY any of their cameras and if you did, consider returning it.

Why do i have to keep “topping up” when i am running them off of sd cards?

I’ve used these camera’s/app for the last 4 years. It was worth the cost of the camera with no subscription to view events then too. The app has now updated/sold out. Now it wants me to subscribe to view movement events. The quality of this system isn’t worth paying a monthly fee. Im very disappointed in the last update. For long term users we should’ve been grandfathered in to full viewing access.

The cameras were never consistent; a lot of offline errors; but the latest try to force you pay a subscription was too much. With no notice, the cameras got locked from playing video; only a picture of each event was available unless you paid them. They fixed it; and you can now watch the SD card video again. Not waiting for them to try again; moving away.

Wow. No longer able to watch videos without paying. I’ve had this camera for years and now you’ve forced an update that renders your camera useless without a subscription. Shame on y’all. I refuse to ever pay you a dime for something I didn’t sign up for at time of purchase. I will be purchasing a new camera from someone else and throwing yours in the trash. Despicable. May karma come for you all swiftly.

Updated 9/28/26: now when I pinch to zoom in, it automatically zooms back out after just a few seconds. And for some reason, the top and bottom of the video image are darkened for a ywhile.

My app just updated overnight and now it is telling me I can only access snapshots on my camera, NO MORE VIDEO FOOTAGE after owning these cameras and having them up for FOUR YEARS!!! I dont know how this is even legal, I am absolutely livid.

Even though we have SD cards and all of our security cameras, this last update took away our ability to see our own history and we really don’t like that, there’s no way we’re going to pay to see the history on our own devices where SD cards are installed

Classic bait and switch. The app gets worse and worse with each update. Don’t ever buy a camera that uses this software. You’re better off flushing that money, at least you’ll know where it went.

This app used to be great. I have several cameras on my property that all run from this app and I used to be able to watch the videos of the motion activated recordings for free because they are stored on SD cards that I purchased and installed in the cameras. Since the last update everything is now behind a paywall. The only thing I can see is a photo from each motion activated recording. The only reason I purchased those cameras was because I didn’t have to pay a monthly fee to see my recordings because they are stored on an SD card! I guess it’s time to find a new set of cameras and an app that doesn’t require a subscription fee to view my videos on an SD card!!

Been using this app for 6 years and up until now it’s been ok. Now with the new update, they don’t let you see video footage on your own SD card without paying for the premium subscription. I could understand if the footage was on the cloud and paying a fee for cloud storage but this is on my own SD card! Nope 👎 bye!

When I first got the camera and it used the software there is no nagging advertisements or anything. Then it came out with an update which it didn't force me to do but I decided to do it just because and ever since then I have been inundated with advertisements and now the updates after that initial update forced you to update it. You have no choice other than to close the program or update.

I’ve had this app for years. Now you have to pay to watch the videos. Fix this or I’m going to another app.

It takes ages to even load up live webcam footage even with 1 gig internet. Genuinely the slowest and worst security service ever. And in the app it shows me pictures of images over and over so I need to manually back out of each picture and that adds even more time to see raw live footage! Cloudedge you guys are genuinely terrible I dislike chinese people

Motion detection didn't work well after an update, usually gets the person's back and not face. Doesn't record people over half the time. Wouldn't buy , the company turned to sb!t after they required payment to keep your recordings and started ? incorporating AI, of course for $2.99 a month or more to keep your recordings .

Did they stop offering free 30sec recording with SD card with app update? Looks like you have to purchase a subscription now?

App had been fine to use until latest update. Now viewing the videos attached to the camera alerts are behind a paywall.

When I originally started using this app, we were given 12 secs, then it was cut down to 6 seconds. I have an sd card and can review the history, but now unable to review the cloud with the update?? What? Why? I want to see events. I want to use this app as it was intended. Fix this CLOUDEDGE. Please. Do better. So frustrating. The doorbell is completely useless if I have to scroll through the sd card to see events later than when they're happening. Frustrated.

This app has is a lot better now than when I started with it earlier this year! I like the changes!

I have had several cameras from CloudEdge for a few years. Now they charge for video. Pretty scammy if you ask me. I have an SD card and always had up to 30 seconds of video, which was quite sufficient for me. Now they want me to pay. I will just get another camera from another company.

When I first bought and installed cameras that are connected to cloudedge they recorded videos to the memory card and no paid service was required. That was the primary reason I bought them. Now they have removed that option and only give you a picture. If I have to pay for videos I'll be replacing all my old cloudedge cameras with new ones that don't use this app.

I bought this camera because I could use an SD card for the recording and not be forced to use a cloud, now you have turned off the ability to see the recordings on the SD card and are forcing a cloud subscription to view them. I will be deleting this and buying a new camera.

You now have to pay to view any video from your own camera. Steer clear of this blackmail.
