Another VPN is Active Bug
★★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 14, 2026
I keep on receiving an Active Armor message saying Another VPN is Active when the only VPN I have is Active Armor and there are no other potential VPNs in browsers/extensions like DuckDuckGo. Please fix this bug.
Doesn’t Block Spam Calls Anymore Oct. 2026
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 13, 2026
Ever since IOS 27.1 came out every spam calls get through and is allowed to leave a message! Before this there were virtually none. I have all call filtering settings in place. The calls are silenced but still leaves messages. Every spam call says “Spam Risk” yet my Spam folder is empty. It makes no sense. No matter how many numbers I block and report as spam the spam list stays empty and they use another number to get through.
Does not work anymore with iPhone 18 pro max
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 13, 2026
Upgraded to iPhone 18 and the caller id feature no longer works. I can’t see the name of the person calling like I used to when they aren’t saved in my
Phone. Literally stopped working the same day
Notification Spam
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 11, 2026
10-11-26 Update: no change
6-24-25 Update: not only still not fixed, getting WORSE. I just got the “no VPN” notification THREE times this morning in the space of less than three hours. And I imagine I’m liable to see more later today. STOP THESE NOTIFICATIONS NOW!
The app works well enough but I’m sick and tired of relentless push notifications to enable VPN.
ATT don’t you dare respond to this review like you did to another user back in February claiming it’s a bug to be fixed in the next update. It was NOT fixed in any of the updates since then. Just turn it off!
When I go a full month without seeing the VPN notification, I’ll delete this review and change to a 5 star because the app does indeed work pretty well for me. But I can’t abide the VPN notifications.
NOT WORKING
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 10, 2026
App keeps turning off the VPN because it thinks I have another VPN installed.
Call Blocking Doesn’t work
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 9, 2026
Got this to block my endless stream of spam calls. It’s 5pm and I just got my 8th spam call today. This app does not work. I have provided so much feedback and have not heard anything in return. Useless app, unresponsive customer support.
NO LONGER WORKS, SKIP
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 7, 2026
Doesn't work anymore, spam texts and calls keep coming through. App is useless
Price
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 6, 2026
This should be free with my cell plan, NOT a paid addon. Yes. The app is free, but the major functionality someone would expect is pay walled, such as reverse lookup.
Garbage
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 3, 2026
Blocks very little and a lot of calls don’t show up in the call log. These spam calls are most likely from the AT&T data breach a few years ago. This app is trash.
Doesn’t block Canadian area codes
★★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 3, 2026
All spam calls from Canadian area codes always remain as “Allowed” even when chosen to be blocked. App has been useless against these persistent scammers.
BRING BACK THE SPAM CALL BLOCKING
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 2, 2026
this app was great because it blocked 99% of the spam/unknown calls that come in every few hours and it was FREE. i realized lately that they were back worst than ever, every few minutes. come to find out they removed that excellent feature, literally the sole reason to download this app, because apparently iOS 27 filters calls now. well guess what? the iOS "filter" SUCKS and this app is useless now. as an AT&T customer i'm very disappointed that they ruined such a great free utility and now i will have to probably pay a significant amount of money towards another app to block the amount of unbearable calls that neither them or apple can filter.

A Trash & Trash
Another bug
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 1, 2026
I recently changed my number and once again it keeps saying you have to be an active AT&T customer to use this service. I am an active AT&T customer it did this before and it worked after an update. Please fix it so I can use it again.
Basically worthless
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 1, 2026
Yes. This is basically worthless for iOS unless you don’t know how to use your phone. There’s just nothing that benefits my phone. I can already send numbers that aren’t in my contacts straight to voicemail… this app has zero features that’re useful.
Junk
★ · v8.1.1 · Oct 1, 2026
I was so hopeful for this app, because it was blocking literally dozens of spam calls after I first installed it. However, after one week, the spam calls are back, especially those identified as Canadian numbers (allegedly). I am going to uninstall ActiveArmor because it is doing nothing.
Useless
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 29, 2026
Flawed, over promised and under delivered like everything from AT&T. Spoofed robo dialers still make it through even though AT&T claims they are all blocked now. Downloading this useless & broken app changed nothing. This app doesn’t even show the calls coming into my phone yet it is supposed to block spam calls.
AA VPN not working after iOS 27 update.
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 29, 2026
Aug28 2026. Was told yesterday by tech at AT&T that AA not fully compatible with iOS 27. VPN not working at all.
New app
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 29, 2026
Downloaded app and continues to try to set up, but gives error. Have gone through troubleshooting, uninstalled app, reinstalled app, still not working. Have went to subscriptions and not listed there to cancel. Have went into AT&T app and not listed there to cancel. Forced to go inside app and cancel, but cannot access app.
Not The Greatest
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 29, 2026
The block feature doesn’t always work and when it does, it’s halfway working. I have inadvertently blocked someone and cannot take them off the block list. It will not remove them, hence the app has some dysfunctional features on it. So expect the unwanted calls and manually block numbers on your actual cell phone. Unwanted spam calls still allowed to come thru as well and get to leave a voicemail. The app is about 30% useful, so use at your own discretion. Also, I do not pay for the app no longer because of its usefulness. It was a waste of time.
VPN BROKEN
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 27, 2026
VPN still broken after latest update. Says it is disabled due to another VPN. Only have one installed on my iPhone. It is Active Armor. Have delete both app and VPN and reinstalled. Still broken.
Nada
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 26, 2026
I will try the paid version. The free version has done essentially nothing. I feel as though we pay enough for cell service that this should be built in but after 160 spam “loan offer” calls in 2 days, the extra $$ will I guess be worth it.
Calls still don't shore up in the long
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 25, 2026
i've had several calls that get through and don't show up in the log. This makes it difficult to report because there's nowhere to report from, so these calls will probably bother other people as well. Even worse, the ones I've answered are actually scams.
Today I had a new one: a call that got through which incidentally was a scammer, it showed up in the log as being blocked. Obviously it wasn't blocked because I answered the call. As an app programmer myself I understand that bugs get in, but these are pretty basic and shouldn't exist. Even worse is that there is functionality that should exist such as being able block scammers that aren't blocked from leaving voicemails, and we don't get that. I remember in some earlier versions of the app there were more features which are now missing and the operating system functionality that was supposed to replace that of the app is sorely lacking.
Not very useful
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 25, 2026
This app has gone up in price several times but the actual usefulness and options has not gone up. It’s not very useful blocking spam or robocalls. The free version is essentially useless. Highly Don’t Recommend
Not working after IOS 27 update
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 25, 2026
Ever since my phone updated now the app is useless. Spam calls and it keeps saying I have a VPN but I don’t. Don’t know how to fix it and can’t believe this is a paid service. Terrible.
Worthless app!
★ · v8.1.1 · Sep 24, 2026
This app doesn’t stop scammers that use virtual phone numbers. The user has to manually blocking each one, then the scammers just rotate to a dozen more virtual phone numbers and it becomes a neverending game of cat and mouse. The app is so stupid that it doesn’t recognize phone numbers with just a city or region in the caller ID field as being scam calls. There is no way to block all incoming calls that don’t have a proper name in the caller ID field. There is no way to block all incoming international calls (most of the scam calls I’ve seen are from Canadian and Filipino numbers). There is no way to make your phone white list only for incoming calls. This app is about a decade behind the times and is completely ineffectual. I am seriously considering my options in regard to switching phone service providers because of these glaring deficiencies in AT&T Active Armor and AT&T in general.
PS: To whoever the customer service rep is who is tasked with replying with 80% prewritten copy-paste replies: I will NOT email the user experience team or dev team about this, as I have already left my feedback here. Instead of creating extra friction and hurdles for users to go through, why not use some lean principles and simply forward the reviews to the user experience team and/or dev team? Otherwise, what is the point of what you are doing? It’s 2026. Nobody is really fooled by the “acknowledge, repeat user’s words, then move conversation to private channel” template response anymore. Just pass the feedback up the chain.
