Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high. The peak and recent figures come only from people who wrote a review, which skews low. Compare each against itself: the drop is the signal, and a big gap between the two usually means heavy rating prompting is masking unhappy users.

Warning re:payments… inferior product and my ex agrees

★ · v3.4.78 · Oct 13, 2026

This is written no where that I could find, but you are limited to no more than $100 per transaction per day for the first 30 days of active use which then automatically increases to $500. Just be aware that for the first 30 days of active use, you won’t be able to make timely payments over $100. Also, there is no option to pay outside of the app, such as by check, which the competing software does allow. It’s a cheaper platform but definitely inferior and my ex agrees. Hey, at least we can agree on that!

Error - can’t text or call and notifications wrong

★ · v3.4.78 · Oct 12, 2026

Every time that I try to send a message or connect a call, it gives me an error message saying that something unexpected happened. It’s also showing me that there are three notifications and there are no notifications within the app. I don’t mind paying for a subscription, but at least have it work if we’re up to me, I would’ve chose something else, but this is court-ordered and they need to fix it immediately

From Completely free to paid subscription model

★ · v3.4.78 · Oct 9, 2026

While I do understand costs of development, storage, servers, etc. it sucks that the developers didn’t utilize ways to keep this a free service for co-parents.

High conflict warning!

★ · v3.4.78 · Oct 8, 2026

If you are in a high conflict situation, you do not want to use this app. It’s hard for legal professionals to get logged in and stay logged in to watch.( example, parent facilitator.) there is no companion app or anyway to watch if you have a hostile message.

Notifications don’t work

★ · v3.4.77 · Sep 24, 2026

Messages and all the functionality the app is built for is good but the not getting notifications when I receive a message makes it a one star review. If I don’t CONSTANTLY open the app and check for messages I miss so many than it’s brought back on me that I’m not responding. You would think an app I pay for monthly would at least work correctly.

Sucks

★ · v3.4.77 · Sep 17, 2026

It should be super simple to add children and easier to add the days that they are with the father and mother

No support response

★ · v3.4.77 · Sep 9, 2026

Calendar design is pretty bad and the payment option never works. Plaid confirms then nothing. Emailed support and no response after weeks. None. Edit: dev response was “people use our app so you’re wrong and people responded to you but I have no proof of this” That tells you all you need to know. Complete dismissal of feedback is why your app is trash. They also claim the app is court ordered IN EVER COUNTY in the United States which is laughably false.

Trash

★ · v3.4.77 · Sep 5, 2026

I was ordered by the court to use this app. They said it was the best one they have on the App Store. It’s quite obvious that this judge doesn’t know a thing because this app is absolutely garbage. He also told me that this app is free with no app purchases or subscriptions. He was obviously wrong on that too. Here is a suggestion for your app, if you are going to make a product that the judicial system recommends you should probably make that product 100% free. Another suggestion is adding some type of voicemail when you try to call the coparent and they do not answer.

Investment firm switch from free to very very expensive

★ · v3.4.77 · Sep 2, 2026

The only reason they were number one in court recommended solutions was the price was free for years. Then they rolled out subscription pricing that is the most expensive of all out there. Not only do the two parents pay, which is expected, but every single guest or third party must pay. The same price. So grandparents, aunt and uncles and any other care giver that needs to be in the communication loop. Same single child account but monthly payments from everyone involved. Even if they use it sparingly. We dumped it and moved on.

This app is horrible. They’re not even trying to update it.

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 26, 2026

I gave a fair review about this app almost 6 months ago. I am back to change it cause nothing has changed. I am not getting any notifications when I get a message. How the hell is this supposed to be a coparenting app when you don’t get no notifications when I get a message from my ex, she has messaged me through another app. If not normal text messaging to let me know what she did this app is horrible. I will change my review if they update it, but I’ve seen this company. Doesn’t want to change anything.

Video Upload Not Available

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 24, 2026

The app does not have a trigger for Video uploads

Missing Records & Poor Customer Service

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 23, 2026

Until recently, I have had no problems & would have recommended the app. However, now a number of the recorded calls from the app are not available for download & quite a few others have said they will be sent for weeks now. In the past the downloads have been emailed to me in minutes. I have sent multiple emails to their customer support and haven’t heard anything back almost a month later. I need these records for court. I’m extremely frustrated and regretting not using the app recommended by the court.

No longer works for coparent

★★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 13, 2026

I guess it is no longer android friendly with the new update? It’s no longer working for the coparent and the customer service is getting him nowhere on fixing it. So we’ve been paying for nothing because he can’t even see my messages. It tells him to subscribe again and when he tries to subscribe again it says he’s already subscribed. Please do better on the customer service side of things and help fix the problem or at least reimburse us for our wasted subscription.

Not receiving notifications

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 4, 2026

My app won’t send me notifications if the other guardian is texting me and when it does, it doesn’t show the text message. It only pops up I tried sending email several times got no response

Doesnt work, no customer support

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 4, 2026

I paid for the app and it doesn’t let either parent authorize calls/video let alone authorize recorded calls video. Emailed customer support and haven’t had any response.

10/10 it’s a No for me.

★ · v3.4.77 · Aug 4, 2026

This app is absurd. When you have it set to record calls they are seemingly impossible to access unless you’re in a “circle” which the other party can deny. Also, if not in a circle you can’t see billing info! How the 2 are related is anyone’s guess. They happily take my money each month and it takes weeks to sort out a problem, including resending emails multiple times to try & get support but that’s rather non existent. Really awful to be locked into this by the court and there’s so many issues. DO BETTER you have income now.

Poor Customer Support

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 31, 2026

Horrible app, and even worse customer support. I’ve been having a bug issue for over a month, related to notifications. I contacted AppClose directly for customer support. After providing them with all relevant info that they asked for, the issue has still not been resolved. I followed up with them, and all I received is a canned, generic response. No resolution or update to my issue, even though they promise to “fix any issues right away”, as explained in the App Store. I don’t understand the delay or the lack of customer support. Here is the canned, generic response I received: “We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing a solution. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and are actively working to resolve the issue.” Translation: We don’t care about the issues you’re experiencing, and are unable to provide a resolution. We do not value you as a customer. Looking at other customer reviews, there seems to be a common theme. Too many bugs, not enough support. My advice, if you are a parent looking for a co-parenting app, especially if it’s going to be court-ordered, look elsewhere. Recommend a different app to be used with the court, citing that AppClose has too many bugs and does not provide adequate customer support. Buyers beware! It seems this company bit off more than it can chew.

Limited Support

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 30, 2026

Issue clearing notifications. Support is non existent. Probably will get a response it’s my device not the app and hundred of thousands people use it with no issues. Read the comments… They don’t care about the user, it’s a money grab. Uninstall reinstall doesn’t help. No bulk notification clear all button. Development request ignored and instead you get a response we are the #1 app ordered by courts. Dishonest business model if ask me. Make it free, give it to everyone, get it court ordered. Once we get enough users of the free product hit them with a price tag because guess what? A huge chunk of the user base is locked in by court order. Which explains why they don’t care about the end user. They say they work with low income families and throw out random #s of discounts gave with no data to back it. Anyway if someone has the option to read reviews on App Close before they are court order, I would suggest exploring other options. The price for this app is basically what the other apps charge.

iPad app needs horizontal view support!

★★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 28, 2026

I use an iPad with a keyboard, and there’s no way to rotate the view from locked-in portrait to landscape view, so the app is unable with iPads using external keyboards in landscape mode.

Can’t get the video recorded calls downloaded

★★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 27, 2026

So I got this app and I’m super happy with it except one thing and you can’t get a hold of anybody. It says that your calls are being recorded and you’re able to have access to those recorded video calls and I cannot. I have reached out to Support and all I can do is get a PDF version of the call log history or the text message. This is very frustrating because I had a recent phone call that I’m trying to send to my attorney and I cannot send it.! there needs to be somebody that people can can talk to a live person to get this taken care!

Updates broke the app

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 27, 2026

All calls now need to be finagled in order to get the speaker phone to work. They make it impossible for Military/low income families to sign up for the free version by never responding to emails, or redirecting you in a roundabout, or they keep asking you for random document after random document and when you submit that document, it’s not the right document that they need. They keep this up until you give up.

Terrible

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 24, 2026

I have used for several years. AppClose automatically creates a file on your iPhone and automatically saves files. There’s no option for permissions. There’s no options to stop it. The only options are for you to save it directly to your phone or to the iCloud. It is generating a thumbnail photo every few and saving it to my phone. It has been doing this for years. There are now over 10,000 files on my phone and I am not able to delete the folder.

Not worth it

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 18, 2026

This app used to be great when it was free, but they became greedy and started charging. Unfortunately, quality doesn’t justify the price. Calls drops constantly, and I often have to send the same text multiple times before it finally goes through. For a paid service, I expect basic reliability.

Terrible functionality and accessibility

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 18, 2026

This app is the least helpful of all the coparenting apps. I’m not sure what I’m paying for. It requires 2-factor authentication for every payment or reimbursement rather than using a passkey like any other app taking payments. It is not Siri-enabled so you have to pull over just to write a text message rather than talk-to-text. How these people are able to charge for this is completely beyond me.

unresolved issues proceeding

★ · v3.4.77 · Jul 18, 2026

I have not had a problem with this app up until the last week. After repeated attempts to work with customer support through email. I have not gotten a reply back in over three days. This is the only means that I have to communicate with my youngest child. And have viable information needed throughout the transcripts that I am unable to access because my account has disappeared. I verified my email through the customer support and have confirmed that both my phone and application are up-to-date with no resolution. But the best part is as they were not late excepting the money for the subscription that I am unable to access at all. This is a court ordered app for coparenting that does not have a proper customer support function and or the ability to address the issues at hand within a timely and prompt manner.
